Comp picks 2014

I'm fine with that. But that's doable without giving up our 2nd and 3rd rounders to trade up. If we can trade our 2nd and first 4th round pick to grab HaHa, then I'd be ok with it. But in this year's draft, a 3rd round pick is too valuable to lose in my opinion.

What do you think Hughes or Cheeno?

Why does everyone think we need to trade up to get Ha Ha? He'll 100% be there.

I don't think there's any question of whether we have the ammo now. It's finding a team in the top 3 and gathering the testicular fortitude to make such a move.

Gotta get past the Raiders for sure IMO

I think mayhew will sit tight at safety now that he signed idhegobobbleheadgo. I don't see him trading multiple picks for safety depth. I would use the 3rd and 4th to maybe get back into the 2nd since you have 2 more 4ths at the end of the round.

Sidenote....I think the extra picks make gilbert almost a lock at 10. One thing I have actually agreed with lkp on is corner isn't necessarily a need on this team. Improving and getting better corners is the need. Gilbert is the only option in this draft that gets you that. The extra picks allow you to spend that first on a pick like gilbert that upgrades your secondary but isn't neccesarily a "need."

You may very well be able to trade into the first for that fourth. NE, Denver, Seattle, San Fran. If there is a guy they like there I doubt Mayhew will wait fingers crossed. As for our first pick it's wide open - if I had to put money down right now I'd say they pick Jake Matthews or Barr, passing on Gilbert, weird I know.

The only thing is Lions are in a win now mentality and I dont think Gilbert at 10 helps right now. I think they are going to be looking at a day 1 starter. Still think we try and go Evans

I think that would be a mistake. The Lions were 3rd in passing yards last year. They already made a slight upgrade at their #2 WR. They should concentrate on the defense in the draft.

We have a mid round 2nd (45). It will take more than a mid 4th to trade up into Round 1 IMO.

I agree. But somehow I think they're trying to save their QB .. Get as many weapons as possible for Matt. They have a lot of money riding on him.

what about using the R2 + R4 + R6? keeps the R3 and 2 R4 Comps in play for some decent players with the depth of this draft, just not sure the exact numbers for our picks and how for up we can move with those 3. just don't like the idea of burning next year's R2.

using the chart it is still short

Wed be more apt to just pick a safety at 10 then to trade half our draft for the 3rd starting safety on our roster. I could see one of the 4th rd picks being used on depth....thats about it.

Weren't you the dick who is always crowing that we flipped fourths to trade back into the first for puddinghead? Now an actual fourth isn't good enough?
