Comp picks 2014

This team is loaded with talent has almost no holes. Levy tulloch and Palmer. Could care less about the unknown in whitehead, not proven bad unknown going into year 3.

He has traded down three times and has hit on a ton of draft picks, free agents and trades. You forgot to mention that. Keep worrying about the 4th and 5th list for Thomas and whitehead. Thomas especially this year when we have three 4ths

no holes and 11 wins in 2 years. Yaaaaa....something isn't adding up. You blame it all on bad coaching? Yup...mayhew controls that too....way to build a winner mayhem!

Injuries and turnovers. Those can be fixed.

Hard to do when they have little to know depth and several offensive players that are turnover prone. You might be able to fix one player not 4 or 5

Lions have good depth in most areas overall. Stafford and bush will be fixed with coaching and healthy weapon combo

Please tell me where all this depth is?

Bush has had problems since he came into the league that haven't been fixed yet.

Bell, Pettigrew, and Calvin all fumble too much as well

The only positions the Lions have good depth is at RB and DT. They have depth at CB, but it's unproven depth, not good depth. And if you want to say Hilliard is good, then we also have one good backup at tackle.

Pettigrew wasn't bad this year and Calvin had busted fingers. Bush just needs to get his shit together or we'll see a lot more bell

rb is the only position we have depth. Oh weird....its the only position does doesn't mean shit in the league lmao. Way to build a winner mayhem!

DT depth isn't very solid anymore. We have 2 good starters with nothing behind them.

no back up qb, WR group is sad behind CJ/Tate, oline depth is suspect at best...weve actually been very lucky with oline injuries, De depth sucks, DT depth isn't there, corners are meh at best, carey is our back up safety?....laughable.

We have such good depth that he blames most of the losses on injuries. Doesn't add up.

Pryor for a fourth. Hell yeah I would do that. Deebo is 31 by the end of the year and only signed for 2 years. Plus if Don Carey ever plays safety I will dry hump a cheese grater.

:lmao:

The main contributors to the turnovers are still the two players that handle the ball the most in this offense. Both players have been turnover machines in their NFL careers. But the coaching staff is going to fix that in training camp. Well...maybe they can limit Stafford's but that would be a minor miracle. But here is the MAJOR miracle....Caldwell and his staff are going to fix injuries! Yes, you heard it here from LKP....they are going to fix injuries! Once people from around the country find out that the Lions have Jesus on their staff who can cure the sick & fix injuries on the sidelines there will be millions of people that will travel from across the country to get healed! PRAISE JESUS....PRAISE CALDWELL!!!! I'M HEALED!!!

Time and surgeries heal injuries. I never said coaching.

Stafford can reduce his ints and keep his great play of moving the ball and scoring. Bush the good far outweighs the fumbles and drops

when you suck at causing turnovers year after year....and you are great at turning the ball over year after year.....its related to the talent on the field. Its not dumb luck. Its being outplayed by superior talent....they might be stronger....they might have better technique....they might have a better scheme. Whatever the reason its usually the other team being better than you are.

Fumble recoveries are dumb luck sometimes. Lions lacked on both offense and defense recoveries. 15 picks forced was average in the league. 19 picks wasn't all on Stafford and his first 7 were in Lions wins. 9 total in wins. They did lack talent temporarily at WR due to injuries and this hurt Stafford. But with Tate(durable compared to Nate) and a high WR rookie pick, I think that WR talent is fixed. Along with Calvins surgeries to fix his knee and finger.

And you can be talented but turnover prone and have the good outweigh the bad. Stafford and Bush are prime examples with moving the ball and scoring points. Some coaching will help. Same with Rashean Mathis. Good corner last year, but didn't have any picks. Slay was a rookie and can develop the turnovers but the talent is there. Needs to learn zone concepts. Alphonso Smith was a terrible CB in 2010-2012 for Detroit but he gambled and got 4 picks in 2011. Same with Eric Wright. And that year Detroit had great fumble recovery rates and forced 34 turnovers.

The Lions can reduce the turnovers by 10 just with coaching IMO. 22 turnovers forced by the defense would be fine if the Lions can do that improvement on offense. We wouldn't need more than around 22. But around 30 forced would be a nice bonus on top of the offensive turnover reduction.

Lions have talent, it's more than just turnovers. Moving the ball, scoring on long fields and getting stops, I'd put them in the top of the league for that. Turnovers screwed over a talented roster and created a wasted opportunity. But now we move on to 2014.
