Lions QB Matthew Stafford said he's not paying much attention to the national MVP talk that's been going on around him. He said part of it is he's been in the limelight since high school as a highly touted recruit. He smiled, though, when asked about turning doubters into believers.

Jim Caldwell said "you have to do what's best from you at that time" when it came to trading to Kyle Van Noy to New England. Said he worked hard but "sometimes a change of scenery helps a guy."

Jim Caldwell on Vince Wilfork: "Vince is a powerful man."

COULD LAKEN TOMLINSON BE TRADED?
The former first-round pick has lost his starting job on the offensive line, and the Lions have already made one trade this week. Could they pull the trigger on another deal?

Potential trade targets for every NFL team.

Good news for Lions: Eric Ebron, Theo Riddick and Haloti Ngata return to practice.
Bad news: Marvin Jones, Darius Slay, RT Riley Reiff, Corey Robinson, Joe Dahl and DeAndre Levy not at open portion of practice.

FPI: TEXANS-LIONS LACKS LUSTER.
Sure, it's a matchup between two 4-3 teams with decent playoff chances. But FPI rates this Sunday afternoon battle in Houston as the weekend's third-worst.
