fallout from the Mudhens game from Saturday?s fun and games. Two Mud Hens were suspended by the International League for their part in Saturday?s fracas as RHP Bruce Rondon was suspended for five games and LHP Drew Smyly was suspended for three games. Because Smyly is a starting pitcher, his suspension will begin on Tuesday ? that way a three-day suspension would affect his next start, which is scheduled for Thursday. Mud Hens manager Phil Nevin said he did not know who would start in Smyly?s place Thursday, or when Smyly?s next start would be.

Kind of expecting Rondon to be up either for Villarreal, if he goes on the DL, or as a Sept. 1 call-up.

Andy Oliver likes bullpen move and has been throwing more strikes. Casey Crosby advancing.
Bullpen has helped Oliver's control, coaches believe, because he can focus more narrowly and not see a 6-7 inning stint as overwhelming.

Drew Smyly is throwing well. All the way back from oblique injury. But he has a 3-game suspension; Bruce Rondon a 5-game suspension, after throwing at Will Rhymes in AAA Toledo game.
Rhymes, now playing for Durham, got a bit awed by his HR off a brick building beyond RF.
Mud Hens were chafed. Next guy gets hit and Rhymes later ducked, Rondon 100mph FB behind him.
