Dugout defaced with swastika sign in NewYork

no, they're not. They may be impacted by it, but these have mostly become problems SINCE the civil rights movement. Bias doesn't encourage a tripling of the percentage of children born out of wedlock since passage of the civil rights act, things like welfare do that. Bias doesn't cause black on black crime that destroys minority communities. Bias doesn't cause poor blacks to have a 13% graduation rate from high school in schools that are often among the highest in per student spending.

gah...

next you're going to tell us "slavery really wasn't that bad" right?

do you have to try hard to out-stupid yourself or is just an innate ability you possess?

I'm just trying to understand your neat and tidy, lily-white world view.

After he signed the Civil Rights Act, LBJ said "we've lost the south for a generation." And indeed they all started voting GOP not too long after that. So that wasn't because White Southerners were upset that African Americans were gaining civil rights and equal protection, but because they would actually be harmed by the Civil Rights Act? So all along white southerners and Republicans are the ones who've been looking out for African Americans, and white civil rights activists, northern liberals, and the African American leaders who supported the Act were the real racists?

By jove, I've had it backwards this entire time.

people like turd telling them they're victims and therefore not responsible for any of their own circumstances just to name a few.

speaking of "unsubstantiated claims"...

The policing issue, I don't think you can separate from the economics. It's just another side effect.

And the single parent statistics I would also think are highly convoluted with economic status. The only reason it doesn't mirror as closely as crime rates is because the numbers are so much higher, there's a saturation effect at some point.

Poverty, poverty, poverty.

Bias causes poverty, poverty causes everything else.

Yes you do have it backwards. Blacks switched to the Democrat party during the depression after FDR's government giveaway programs while the party was still overwhelmingly racist (this includes FDR). Southern whites didn't start voting republican until the south became less racist. There's no correlation with an increase in civil rights and a white migration to the Republican party. If you're a racist, misogynist, bigot you don't switch to the party that supported desegregation, voted overwhelmingly for the civil rights act and women's suffrage. Virtually every one of these social issues enjoyed well over 80% support from Republicans. Your claims are entirely baseless. You're a liar. Period. And of course, you're a racist too.

I agree the problem is poverty but the rest is nonsense. Bias does not cause poverty. Look at how Asians have thrived in America despite tremendous bias. There was tremendous anti-Irish bias in America, they overcame it (because people suddenly realized they were white, no doubt), the gay community has a long way to go but they've come a really long way in my lifetime despite tremendous bias. Yes, blacks had it worse because of slavery, but it's been gone for over 150 years. Bias does not cause poverty - creating a system of dependency does that. I lay most of the blame on social welfare programs that have destroyed families and created a class of permanently poor people. One that the democrats rely on for power and happily take advantage of while doing nothing for them in return, except perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Just curious, do you get a free pass from people like Turd for doing overtly racist things like having the General Lee in your avatar because you happily agree with all his b.s. tropes like "all Republicans are racist"? Or are you just a tone deaf liberal knucklehead blissfully unaware of his own hypocrisy?

Maybe you should refrain from speaking ill of those you know nothing about?

How am I speaking ill of you? I'm asking a question based on an observed inconsistency.

Oh? I didn't realize that normal conversation is filled with hurling insults and passing judgement on things you know nothing of...

Not all biases are to the same degree and not all minorities are in America without some form of support or organization going back to their homelands. If you're trying to argue that bias isn't what keeps Black America poor and then you point to social programs, explain to me how that works. How have our social programs specifically targeted black people over the generations? Why didn't other people fall victim to social programs at the same rate? Tell me how that's been a bigger factor than bias. (Have you seen the thread I've started on controlled studies on bias?)

this is funny 'cause you complained about others who are "tone deaf" in your post.

It was a question - one that hasn't been answered. What's even funnier is you of all people haven't called him out for his obviously racist avatar - or at least that's what you would say, scream rather, if elrod expressed conservative views. Instead you're coming after me for calling out his racism. Again, you're a typical libtard - he (and you) get a free pass on racism because he's on your side. You're hypocrisy is as boundless as your stupidity.

It couldn't possibly have anything to do with choice? Bias goes both ways, right? Blacks overwhelmingly support the party that instituted the policies that are actually having adverse effects on the poor. They voted 88% for Clinton and this was the first election since at least 1996 that blacks support for the Democrat's nominee was below 93% - and it's probably longer but Gallup data from 1996 and prior only breaks out White and Non-White. No other voting block of any kind (ethnic, gender, age, lifestyle) comes even close to being that monolithic. Liberals are always talking about how poor uneducated white people vote against their own best interests by not supporting Democrats, "the hand that feeds them" but maybe they have it backwards.

if you're done avoiding the subject, then I'll stop asking you to explain your hypocrisy.

If you can tell me which, if any, election I voted for a democratic candidate, point out any instance where I said anything derogatory towards the General Lee, if you can explain why it is my avatar, or just in general why it's a hypocrisy, perhaps your question will have credence. Until then you're simply shooting from the hip talking about things you know nothing of. Which is starting to seem like your m.o. I find it mildly entertaining, but unless you have an actual point, it's probably best you lob your schoolyard insults, disdain for others who respectfully disagree with you, and your willingness to pass judgement on those you know not of, elsewhere. I'm not the guy for childish internet beef.
