Game 10: Lions @ Panthers Thread

Most annoying thing is everything went in Lions favor this week
Backup QB and no McCaffery
Packers 7-3 and Vikings 4-6 lose. Bears are 5-5 and dropping too but had bye
Cards lost at 6-4
Rams/Bucs either way helps Lions but hope Rams lose for 6-4 too (and they play Cards twice)

Rams/Cards split and go 2-2 other games they are at 9-7 only
Lions can beat Bears/Vikings for their 6th and 7th loss respectively. Bears get Packers twice too. Vikings have Bucs/Saints too

But the Lions will just lose to Houston and be put out of their misery

New regime incoming so I won't have to hear bitching about this one anymore. You will all love the new regime just like you did Patricia when he got hired. Trade Stafford, he deserves to be on a team that gives him support and stays healthier

The Fords are still the owners, so there is no "New Regime" in the works in the near or distant future.

Technically it is a different primary owner. We'll see if she likes to make change. Might as well let the NFL decide who to hire at GM

It's the Ford Family. Royalty. Right of Succession. A Monarchy. It will never abdicate.

There are plenty of good coordinators out there or coordinators in good situations that will be bad head coaches or not a good enough head coach to get the Lions out of this funk

Schwartz and Patricia were "great" coordinators
Caldwell was the OC, former Head Coach and former Qb coach mainly that had the most success with a bad OC then Cooter and a young DC/DB coach who never got a HC job in Teryl Austin

We have 2 pro bowl players on this team. Our punter and Killabrew as ST. Everyone else is garbage. We might have like 5 players that MIHGT start on other teams....but for a majority of the NFL...that number is much less than 5.

This offense and OC worked just fine in Seattle with Russel Wilson. Another glaring example of how average Stafford is.

We had an awesome Defensive showing vs CAR and the offense pissed it away. I hate blaming the coordinators typically because its the players job to execute....but id say 80% of the offenses issues were Bevell this week. With that said Stafford sucked. Couldnt execute on 3rd downs...again. threw for like 50% completion. And lost bad.

Yet again....A rookie QB can do that just fine. All of that. theres literally not a single damn thing stafford did on Sunday that a rookie couldnt do.

Seattle ran the ball well
Detroit did not

You give Wilson 40 yards, no protection, drops galore and no WR separation, and a missed FG and he gets blanked too.

Take a look at the Rams game where Seattle scored 16
No rushing support
Sacked 6 times. Lost a fumble
2 picks for Wilson. 57 rating

QBs need some support or that happens

Imo Patricia was an overrated DC. Remember that last game vs Philly? But 2017-18 13th in points given up, 16th rush, 21st pass.

lol...you give an example and say Wilson gets blanked, and then go on to show that they didn't get blanked, they scored 16 :lmao:

I was showing a bad QB performance and Seattle loss you dummy. And a terrible 57 rating. It shows what happens when a QB gets no support. He looks like shit even though he is not a shit QB. Once again you completely missed the point. Did you eat paint chips as a kid?

We know bad QB performances result in losses...we see that all of the time with Stafford. I was making fun of your comparison to Wilson saying if he had no support they would get "blanked"...then you give an example where they put up 16 points...you dope!

I didn't say blanked. I said bad performance and loss. You are completely missing the point or you are doing it on purpose because I showed you the logic very well to prove my point.

And also its not a bad QB performance, its a bad team performance that makes a good QB look like shit. Figure out the difference in that little brain of yours

Wilson didn't score either buddy. 0 TDs and 2 ints. And a shitty team game with no support and he looks like the worst QB in teh world.

It's so easy to destroy you in arguments

It's a team sport. Stop blaming Stafford for the majority of the problems

And of course for the Lions. Prater missed a FG and Stafford threw a beauty of a TD to Marvin but idiot Marvin didn't take on step back from the LOS. 10 points for Stafford. So nobody was blanked really

you say it's a team sport and then you say that Wilson didn't score?

Is it a team effort or is it all on the QB?

Pick a side.

It's a team effort buddy. So stop blaming Stafford and praising Wilson so much. Stafford is just as good in terms of individual play (passing, Wilson clearly the better runner) but the team controls the stats.

But I'm fine with trading Stafford so he can finally get the support he deserves. They better draft the most mobile QB ever though. I want Wilson but faster becuase you aren't finding a better passer than Stafford, especially in the draft. Stafford 10X the passer of Lawrence and Fields

Wilson is better in every aspect of the passing game and a better runner.

I'm sure Stafford is better than Lawrence and Fields right now, since he is a seasoned NFL vet, but down the road, who knows. I do know that both of have been much better so far in their college careers than Stafford was in GA, but that doesn't always translate. Looking back at Matt's college stats...not very impressive. It looks like the turnovers have always been a big problem with him.

39 games
57.1 comp %
51 TDs (5.2 TD%)
33 INTS (3.3 INT%)
7.8 YPA

Caldwell and Cooter fixed his int problem. And like 4 picks this year aren't his fault. Stafford is just a good if not better than Wilson as a passer. Wilson has the mobility which saves him so much. And I don't know why DEs run full speed at Wilson. he just moves to the side then makes a throw to an open WR.
