Game 15: Lions @ Cowboys *Monday Night* Thread

Idk, I'm just saying itd be better. Why you gotta go next level crazy?

Better than shit is still pretty shitty. Not to mention were never really in the positon to pound the rock. Consistently down in the 2nd half even against shitty teams. Our idea of featuring the run game is a couple run heavy 3 n outs....Everyone gets impatient....and we chuck it 40 times.

Teams don't worry about our running game, Abdullah is our best chance to change that. Unfortunately its looking glimm for him returning this year. My faith in the running game took a shit the second I found out his season was potentially over. I don't know if that makes me gullible or not, but I had and still have high hopes for him.

It's only shitty because Abdullah is hurt. And we are not down all the time. Lions had leads and many games were back and forth. Eagles, Skins, Rams, Titans, Colts took late leads on us. Jags took quick early 4th lead then Lions took it back. Bears game at home back and forth. Saints we led.

at Hou, at Chi, both Min were not down big enough.

Giants, Packers, Cowboys were only game we got down big. Scored 27 at Green Bay. Good offensive day.

36.8 attempts per game from Stafford. 12th. That is about right

If Abdullah and Riddick were healthy, we would run better and run more. We'll see next year.

People still have high hopes for broyles too...get over it.

Abdullah is proven good. 2015 and 2016. He is a huge boost to our run game. But yeah ignore we lost our top back for 14.5 and 2nd back for 5 games

I think what people are trying to tell you is he has not proven to be a good back. In 2 seasons, he has played 18 games, 698 yards rushing, 240 yards receiving and 4 TDs. He might be good...but we don't know yet. Riddick is not a good runner but is a above average receiver.

This kid is not Broyles. His knees were not shot when we drafted him. This kid is not Best, he did not have mush brain when we drafted him. He had zero injury concerns coming out of college. He will be a valuable player for us, just had a setback. It happens. Hating on this kid makes no sense, its borderline trolling.

Riddick is an elite receiving RB.

Abdullah is a good back and was looking great. Any team losing their number 1 RB is a blow. It's the main reason our running game stunk. Injuries. It's simple. Abdullah can make guys miss. Washington and Zenner can't yet. Plus Washington is learning the scheme.

GB had a Montgomery and Howard to turn too after GB found out Starks stunk. Howard was better than Langford. Lions did not have that luxury Washington is a rookie and Zenner gets tough yards but is slower.

Lions can run block better. They have in 2 of the last 3 games. Green Bay allows 4.1 YPC (13th). We can run on them.

Elite implies he is the best of the best. There are many that are much better receiving backs than Riddick.

Guys like Lev Bell, David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, Devanta Freeman, Elliot are all better receiving backs. Most of them are SIGNIFICANTLY better runners as well. There are other receiving backs that have similar receiving skills as Riddick (Duke Johnson, Sproles (superior), Murray, McCoy, Ware, Bennard). Riddick is a one trick pony (which is fine) but he isn't even elite in that skill set. He is good...but not elite.

Riddick is the best of the best as a receiving RB. Can't be covered.

Abdullah is a good back. It's PROVEN.

Two seasons, less than 700 yards and 2 rushing TDs in 18 games...that's not proof. He could end up being good, but he has not proven anything yet.

4.2 YPC is proof. Especially with the 2015 run blocking. Just watch Abdullah play and you can see he is a stud. And then he tore both the Colts and Titans apart. More proof.

The Lions run game sucks because Abdullah and Riddick got hurt. Fact.

Again....you take truth telling and think its trolling. Fact: He fumbled his way out of a starting gig last year. Fact he was injured this year. Fact: he had fumble issues throughout all of college. Fact You have no idea what he would bring to this run game.

Hey, one of these years he might get to 1,000 career yards! We could have used those 2 TDs.....against dallas that would mean we ....oh wait....we woulda still lost.

Our biggest problem is bad drafting - OL sucks, secondary sucks, LB core sucks, DL sucks. RB suck. WR suck.

And of course our coaching sucks.

Yes, points allowed might be decent - it's called weak competition.

I liked Quins first draft...but ya, years of mayhew meant full draft classes were out of the league in a matter of a couple years and the depth of our team was shit. Still is. Yes, weve had some injuries to key players this year....every team does. When you fill those holes with the likes of Asa Jackson, TJ Jones some guy named Armbrister and Zack Zenner....your TEAM sucks.

Said it for a half decade mayhew was awful at his job....but im just a troll so what do i know.

Darius Slay practices again for Lions; Anquan Boldin clearly limited by finger.
Mlive

Receiver Anquan Boldin did practice, but was clearly protecting the ring finger on his left hand. He injured the finger against Dallas and was wearing a splint on it during practice.
He caught a couple passes with just his right hand during offensive drills, and ran a few routes where he wasn't even thrown a ball, which is highly unusual.
He never used his left hand to catch a pass during the open portion of practice.
