Game 15: Lions @ Cowboys *Monday Night* Thread

Detroit have no idea what they're doing. I understand they're a passing team but when we have someone that's having a good game why aren't they running more? They get like 8, 10 - 12 carries. Is it a sin where Caldwell doesn't want to see 20+ carries? We get thumped by Dallas and their QB only has to throw 20 times..

We need some balance..

They can run with Abdullah. The injury killed our run game. As it would losing your top back for 14.5 games and 2nd back for 5+ games.

Over 125 average not 100. which is a top 6-8 run game average per game.

Not really, Adbullah isn't anything special, just a below ave scat back you can't use in the red zone. IMO the team needs a bigger back or two to really improve the running game to any noticeable degree.

What we need is better coach. And people who can draft well. No more RB, no more OL - until you figure out how to draft. Or the best this team is ever going to get is a possible playoff in the last game.

What we need is to beat the GD packers Sunday, else it's going to get all ugly ass up in here for the next 10 years.

So if we beat GB, then don't win a playoff game? GB is just one step, no playoff win and it's a bad season. Though a slight aberration because we would win a division title.

I do lean on the side that it's entertainment. The game is over, if we lose, you move on. Go enjoy something else.

LOL Abdullah is not a scat back. He runs well between the tackles, can catch and get the corner outside. He's a good back. 4.2 YPC his rookie year and was running well the first 2 games this year. He was sorely missed by Detroit.

I don't know why you keep citing 4.2 YPC as though that's really good. This season, that would put him basically in the bottom third of the NFL.

I haven't missed him.

4.2 ypc is really good actually. Do the math. I'll wait...

Yes, 5.6 after 18 CARRIES. Give me a break dude.

You are smarter than this.

Abdullah was 5.6 this year though.

David Johnson is 4.3. Blount 3.9. And everyone is all over their jocks around here.

People like DJ because he played 15 games, had 1233 yards rushing, 841 yards receiving and 20 TDs.

Abdullah played in 2 games, rushed for 101 yards, 55 yards receiving and had 1 TD.

I don't know anybody who is "all over Blount's jock"

And a good ROOKIE year. Dealing with Lombardi and subpar blocking. Abdullah is a stud RB. He was sorely missed.

Abdullahs was benched last year cause he couldnt hold onto the ball in even a limited role capacity. This year hes played in 1.5 games. Those are his carrer milestones.....yippie.

Why do you keep using him as an excuse as to why we arent performing? You have no clue how well or poor this run game would do with him in the line up. He could be fumbling 5 times a game for all we know.

In all fairness Abdullah was righting the ship at the end of the year, but yeah, limited touches will improve how often you fumble. Either way, Abdullah can/will be an exciting rb for us when/if he stays healthy. Riddick is unguardable coming out of the backfield, Abdullah can be that guy, but better. Don't give up on him yet, is what I'm getting at. I still thing we draft a a big bodied rb this year though. Rb by committee is going nowhere

Lions would be a top 10 run game with abdullah

Leave it to Lions fans to dwell on the would've/could've/should've when there is still one more game to be played that will decide the division.

The Lions are the fifth team in NFL history to feature five players with at least 50 receptions in a season.

Jones (50), tight end Eric Ebron (53), running back Theo Riddick (53), receiver Anquan Boldin (63) and Golden Tate (85) have now joined...
the 1980 Cleveland Browns, 1994 New England Patriots, 2011 New Orleans Saints and 2013 Denver Broncos in accomplishing the feat.
