Game 15: Lions @ Cowboys *Monday Night* Thread

43 Def holding, DPI, holding and OPI combined on Detroit (10 DPI,7 def holding, 24 holds, 2 OPI)
33 on Green Bay (20 holds, 5 DPI, 6 def holding, 2 OPI)
40 Cowboys (29 holds, 4 DPI, 6 def holding, 0 OPI)
Falcons -42
Giants-32
Seattle -40 (19 holds, 6 DPI, 8 def holding, 7 OPI)

Lions getting fucked over. Most of the DPIs and OPIs called on them are bullshit too.

send it all into the NFL headquarters, maybe they will give a shit.

I don't really give a shit why Suh left. He left....end of story. The defense went downhill when he did.

Every fkn franchise builds around their QB. EVERY ONE. Its what you're supposed to do.

And ypu keep repeating yourself on the running game and a good passing game. You're right! It is football 101 and every motherfucking analyst talks about it still. If you're going to ONLY have a good passing game and a shit running attack, you're going to struggle as a team. Your ignorance on the subject is comical. Its all these clowns on these football programs talk about. Listen to guys like Simms, Bradshaw, Esiason etc etc etc and its all they talk about. Historically.....you're full of shit. You have no idea wtf you're talking about. Did you even play the game? With statements like that...theres no way you did...lol.

Give me one weapon on this team that Stafford can turn to and be confident 110% that he's going to make a play. YOU CAN'T!!! We have some nice pieces but nice just isn't cutting it. We don't have a Gronk, an AJ Green, a Leveon Bell or an AB on this team. We have sidekicks lol. Again, i like these players but they're not gamebreakers.

Nah, not year 9. He's a good QB. This injury is obviously worse off than we thought and he's basically working with #2's and 3's now. All on him though...lol. So clueless

Since you brought him up, How many games has Gronk played this year? How is Tom Brady doing?

I don't think I ever said it was all on Stafford. But, since we're talkinga bout them, look at the Patriots last year and get back to me on why you need a rushing attack to be successful passing.

Can a good rushing attack help the QBs? Yes.
Can a good passing attack help the RBs? Yes.

Is one a prerequisite for the other to be successful? Not in the slightest.

Threat of run game helps make passing easier. Whether you have qb, wepaons and protextion to take advantage is another story

Good run game can really help an offense. Not everything reliant on qb then. Allows you to be successful in all matchups and succeed against teams good at stopping the pass.

I like this quote from Caldwell

"I think, just like I believe, players make the most mistakes in the game. Coaches make the second most. Officials make the fewest, so that's how I feel,"

It might be true but it proves he's an idiot. That's like lifting the bus off the players leg to place it on their neck.

I don't care how many games Gronk has played. My point is that he's a superstar playmaker. And Tom Brady has made a deal with the devil lol. There's Tom Brady then there's..................................
Brady comes from another planet. Besides, Blount was running well last year. Over 700+ yds in 12 games before he got hurt? Then Lewis was chipping in with over 200+ on the ground....lol. This year Brady is going off and Blount is over 1100+ with 15 TDs lol. Need more buddy?? You just got schooled!! Everybody in FOOTBALL preaches that having BOTH a running game and successful passing game is a recipe for success but your dumbass disagrees with it lol. You think it's old school thinking??? How idiotic are you? Lol.

Go look at all the mediocre to bad teams and tell me who has a good running or passing game. Or BOTH!! They either have one or the other. You won't find many but if you look at all the teams in the playoffs right now and you'll see a nice balance for the most part.

Absolutely fucking OWNED!

9 of the 13 playoff contenders run at 4.2 YPC or better on the year.

The 4 that don't
Seattle, New England, Giants and Detroit. NE is 8th in rush yards though as they run a lot just not that efficiently. However, those 3 teams are top 3 defenses. All 3 of them.

Detroit was a top 10 D PPG until last week. They can't run it. Mainly due to Abdullah and Riddick's injuries. Some run blocking too. But Detroit still gets it done passing the football. Well until Stafford hurt his finger. 100.5 QB rating before the injury. Now it dropped to 93 since with 3 bad rating games.

You need to run the ball or have a great defense. Unless you are Detroit which has a good defense and a great QB.

No, it has nothing to do with those injuries. The team hasn't broken 75 a single game this season in rushing. Think about that for a minute.

Riddick and Abdullah weren't doing shit when they were healthy in the beginning of the season. It doesn't matter who is back there, this line cannot run block to save their lives.

Are you drunk. They had over 100 yards in the first 2 games. Abdullah and Riddick were running wild. 116 and 137 rushing the first 2 games as a team. Abdullah had 5.6 YPC. Could not be stopped.

126.5 average over 16 games is 2,024. That is a top 6 rushing team per 2015. And top 6-8 in 2016 too after it's all said and done. The injury was the BIGGEST factor in why we can't run the ball. Abdullah is a stud. Abdullah had 4.2 YPC last season as well as a rookie.

I agree with this. I also think that balance between offense and defense is just as important.

I took all of the playoff teams (including Det and Wash) and took the average of their offense and D. Here are the rankings and averages.

1. NE 6.5
2. Dal 8
2. Pitt 8
4. Seattle 11
5. Atl 12.5
6. Hou 14.5
7. GB 15
8. Wash 16
9. OK 17
10. NYG 17.5
11. Det 19
12. KC 22
13. Miami 26

The only real outliers in this list are Houston, OK and Wash. OK and Wash have top offenses but shitty defenses. Houston has the #1 defense but the 28th ranked O. Miami is a shitty team and it's a miracle they are in the playoffs.

Wow, over 100 yards combined in TWO GAMES! Incredible!

Look at each flipping box score dude. This team CANNOT run, and hasn't been able to run in forever.

They can run with Abdullah. The injury killed our run game. As it would losing your top back for 14.5 games and 2nd back for 5+ games.

Over 125 average not 100. which is a top 6-8 run game average per game.

I was talking about individual runners. After those 2 magical games where they barely cracked 100, they couldn't do shit, and they still can't.

Riddick is not a between-the-tackle guy, and Abdullah has proven nothing in the NFL. Them being healthy doesn't suddenly turn this team into a great running team.

And your argument has nothing using 2 games as a sample.

This final game changes drastically if Abdullah played. He has the sort of explosiveness that we are missing right now. Zenners first half was the best running we've seen since Abdullah went down.

Abdullah was hurt in the second game. And had 4.2 YPC his rookie year. You must be drunk? Clearly the injury to Abdullah and Riddick is the main reason we can't run the ball.

You do realize that 4.2 YPC is near the bottom third of the NFL, right? Right?

Owned???

700 yards over 12 games is about 58 yards per game.

So lets look at the Patriots this year.
They run the ball at a 3.9 YPC clip good for 25th in the league (But it is .2 YPC more than last year, when they finished 29th). While their passing game this year is one of the most efficient at 3rd in the league in yards per attempt.

For the record lions run it at the 26th best YPC in the league.
