Game 15: Lions @ Cowboys *Monday Night* Thread

Honest question....

If Stafford is so average then why do guys like you get mad when they try and surround the kid with weapons?

Yeah, makes no sense. Hopefully they're kicking themselves in the nuts watching receivers rarely get separation and seeing the offense struggle this year. Give me Julio Jones, AJ Green, Gronk, and Elliot. You wouldn't hear me bitch one bit

Wide outs are too small, the Jones pair was pathetic last night.

Zenner. He was used little to zero in the 2nd half

He was used and gained 1 or 2 yards on his first carry of the half then had a hold called against him then was replaced by Dwyane ( I hit the hole fast ) Washington.
The hurry up was helping Zenner, and the running game. We need to keep the tempo at a crisp pace in my opinion. Spread the field .. I feel Matt works better in am up tempo offense .

Lions are held. Can't get separation.

Press coverage gives opponents ability to hold.

What in the hell happened to Marvin Jones? He was a beast early on, and now I don't even know if he plays?

legal within 5 yards isn't it? That why the Lions need bigger bodied wide outs. Tate can make people miss so he's fine, the other two bleh terrible.

I don't get it either, been really underwhelming since week 5. Made a splash early, but defenses are onto him

Ah yes, the ol "more holding allowed on him" routine. That's why he went from 100+ a game to basically 15-50 a game.

I understand he needs more weapons to be successful. If you give any NFL QB enough weapons they can put up top 10 numbers.

What I don't agree with, is the opinion that he is a top tier QB, that is only struggling because of the lack of options/weapons. I thought spending so much on the offense, sort of ignoring the defense was a mistake. We were on the cusp of being a top tier defense, but we directed more resources for offense, because we so badly wanted to be a top offensive team for some reason.

Stafford made great strides with his short accuracy this year. He still struggles with the medium/deep ball, and seems to have below average pocket awareness much of the time. There were a few times where he had a clean pocket, but scrambled out which opened him up to pressure. Other times he didn't seem to recognize pressure was coming.

You don't need to be elite to not suck. Or close to it. How does KC win? We need so much on defense this season. The only thing Matt has proven is he doesn't suck, circa 2012-14. But big games, top QB need to finish. Granted his team around him is horseshit. But he's not helping.

He floated the deep ball to Jones on the right sideline and completely missed a wide open Tate (pass was intercepted) on the left sideline. Meanwhile, Dak floats a beautiful ball to Dez, hits Terence Williams perfectly in stride with a 30 yard pass right on his fingertips with touch. Game over. Matt said it to Gruden before the game. Its the NFL....theres going to be 6 or 7 plays out there that can go either way that effect the game. Dallas made them.....we didnt.

I wish i could blame the finger but his deep ball accuracy was bad before the injury....nothing i saw in the first half makes me think this is a finger problem.

It is 100% the finger. His ball wobbles and doesn't have as much zip now. It's obvious

But all you guys do is cry when they surrounded Staff with weapons...lol. Remember?

And this team was doomed the second Suh walked out that door. And as shit as Fairley was, him too. When those guys bolted, they were fucked. They tried to replace those players with guys like Ngata, Walker and drafted guys like Wright and Robinson. So dont give me that bullshit that they ignored the defense because they didn't.

Stafford has improved in every aspect of his game. An OLine in transition, no running game (something you think means squat lol) and smallish WRs that can't get open. But yet, it all comes down to the QB for some reason. If i was Stafford i would be the fuck out of Detroit. He gets no respect from this joke of a fanbase. He has nothing to work with. I want him here. Why would he want to stay though?

Why did Suh leave? Because they couldn't afford him, partly because they screwed up his contract by trying to restructure so they could afford the offensive players.

People were more laughing at the people who would always say, Stafford just needs more weapons to be good. Always a reason why he can't play at an elite level for an entire season.

Historically there has been little to suggest there is a direct correlation between a good passing game and strong running game. Sounds good in theory, maybe "football 101", but NFL isn't playing "football 101". NFL is Football 899.

Look at you completely disrespecting the entire team to defend Stafford. Calling them all nothing.

Stafford has turned into an slightly above average QB, that could be a fringe top 10 guy, if he can make strides in awareness and mid to deep ball accuracy. Through 8 years he really hasn't put together a full year. Year 9 is the answer maybe.

Suh wanted 19 per. Lions could afford him. They offered 17 per. They chose not to go that high. They added solid DTs but need more pass rush from DT this season. We'll see if Ansah and Hyder can carry them down the stretch here or if someone steps up

I don't really give a shit why Suh left. He left....end of story. The defense went downhill when he did.

Every fkn franchise builds around their QB. EVERY ONE. Its what you're supposed to do.

And ypu keep repeating yourself on the running game and a good passing game. You're right! It is football 101 and every motherfucking analyst talks about it still. If you're going to ONLY have a good passing game and a shit running attack, you're going to struggle as a team. Your ignorance on the subject is comical. Its all these clowns on these football programs talk about. Listen to guys like Simms, Bradshaw, Esiason etc etc etc and its all they talk about. Historically.....you're full of shit. You have no idea wtf you're talking about. Did you even play the game? With statements like that...theres no way you did...lol.

Give me one weapon on this team that Stafford can turn to and be confident 110% that he's going to make a play. YOU CAN'T!!! We have some nice pieces but nice just isn't cutting it. We don't have a Gronk, an AJ Green, a Leveon Bell or an AB on this team. We have sidekicks lol. Again, i like these players but they're not gamebreakers.

Nah, not year 9. He's a good QB. This injury is obviously worse off than we thought and he's basically working with #2's and 3's now. All on him though...lol. So clueless
