Goodbye schwartz

You dont know how i already forgot?? lol....dont go beating yourself up or losing any sleep because of it, ok? its called weed ....i forget things sometimes lol. But the 17 points makes a little more sense now. Im not completely blaming Stafford on it though.

:D nice tony lol. happy new year by the way bro.

I agree with you. I don't blame it all on Stafford. But where I disagree is that I think after the coaching, Stafford is the next person to blame. Compared to other positions, Stafford (as a QB) affects the game the most. And unfortunately, he played very poorly for the majority of the 2nd half of the season, when we were basically given the division, due to injuries and poor play from the Packers and Bears.

I hope whatever new coaches we bring in are able to help him become more consistent and reduce the turnovers. If that's not possible, then the Lions are in trouble for the next 3 or so years (however many years of guaranteed Stafford got with his extension).

All on Stafford?? Not at all, but he was the biggest problem in the second half of the season. I don't remember him taking over a single game like the elite QBs in this league know how to do. Do you, maybe I forgot one??

Yeah, he was most definitely one of the biggest problems in the second half of the season

That's what most of us are saying, even my "Staff sucks" post I realize it's a lot more than 1 player. That's easy to see, but it's also easy to see Staff at best is an average quarterback. Last two years show that. 58% and 17-20 INT is not good. Who cares what he does for 6 games if his season stats are average?

does the D blame not need to be mostly placed on Gunther? at what point do you stop doing the same fucking D every game? the D calls work for 3 quarters, then they go to Prevent mode and sure as shit they prevent themselves from winning...week after week. I don't blame the players for that as much as I do the DC. was there a failure in execution, sure...but Gunther kept making same calls resulting in the same mistakes. isn't there like a billion sayings that essentially equate making the same mistake that many times is the definition of stupidity?

Is that what he does, prevent mode? I just hope we get better in the secondary so when our new coach blitzes they can cover for 3 seconds.

14 turnovers forced first 9 games. 8 turnovers last 7 games. 3 against Pack in 40-10 win and 2 against Vikings(still lost without Calvin). So only 3 turnovers in 5 other games (all losses).

I want Lovie and I want more turnovers forced.

It wasn't just Staffords 12 picks in last 7 games. Stafford also had alot of good drives to keep us in games. Bush,Durham,Calvin and Bell all screwed the offense at some point too, all in different games.

Special teams there were some big FG misses/blocks throughout the season and the return allowed against the Vikings (though there was an obvious block in the back).

Drops 9%. It's 3-4% higher than most teams. That's not just Stafford.

Run defense against the Eagles and Vikings.

Some big passing TDs allowed against Bucs(Underwood twice), Giants(Randle) and Steelers (Brown twice and Cotchery, plus a 97 yard drive).

Oline not showing up when Calvin doesn't play either. Though Fox started both those games at Right Tackle when Calvin didn't play. I'm on the Fox is garbage side now.

All that led to the 1-6 finish. Not just Stafford obviously. He could have done more to overcome but there was a lot of reasons we lost and Stafford did good things.

Fox sucks. This was a total team implosion its pretty obvious.

His run blocking sucks. If we had Waddle we might have had a better run game against the Vikings but we won't know until next season. Looking at PFF, Vikings only had 1 QB hit and 4 hurries in the game

2 sacks were on Stafford, 1 on Bell, 1 on Hilliard as an extra tackle. The 5th they didn't charge with anybody. Fox only gave up 1 hurry in 38 pass pro snaps, Raiola/Warford/Sims clean slates and Reiff 2 hurries.

Reiff was outmatched against Allen. He was probably our worst blocker once waddle became the starter in most of those games and thats saying alot because he was playing at a high level. Fox can't run block period. Allen made Hilliard his bitch on that 1 play. But Hilliard played well before waddle came in but I think the line is set for next year unless they change at C which I wouldn't mind as long as they get someone better. Doesn't make much sense if he ends up being worse than Raiola.

Not Fox again. Whoever the new coach is I hope he released his ass.

Reiff only gave up 2 hurries. Run blocking sucked without Waddle and Pettigrew.

I want Raiola back on the min pay. He had a very good year.

Thats what were trying to tell you...the team sucks.

And i agreed he sucked the 2nd half but to blame him 100% like some people are is beyond stupid.

He makes the most money and he's the QB. Fair or not he's going to get the most blame.

Jim and his staff get the most blame but Matt is firmly I the second slot..
How hard is it for MS supporters to understand that the DAMN QB HAS THE MOST IMPACT ON IF HIS TEAM WINS OR LOSES...

You guys can blame drops or fumbles bad calls all you want but if you could take away just some of Matt's poor INT's the Lions are in the playoffs..
