I like Ramirez but shouldn't he be a bit cheaper for having an "off year". Too much.

+1....even AJax for him is too much unless we get Yoenis for the outfield or something.

Ramirez is a top five player in the game, in my opinion. That deal would be an absolute steal for the Tigers.

He had a tough 2011, but he's an improvement defensively over Peralta and is a top offensive player at a premium position.

Why not move Jhonny to 2B instead of 3B, IF the Tigers traded for Ramirez? Pheralta might phreferably do a good jhob there, and might be worth signing him to an extension, if he pherforms well there.

One thing worth mentioning... Peralta is likely to regress to his career norms offensively. At third, he would be below average at his career levels.

I've thought the same thing. He'd probably be better there with his somewhat limited range and his offensive production.

Another reason for moving Jhonny to 2B is that Castellanos may be ready to play 3B by '13, and Inge will then be history or perhaps to somewhat mollify the average angry ~160 lbs, 5' 2" middle-aged minivan-driving, soccer-mom Inge-fan POTG texting slappies, then the Tigers might resign Brandon to a one year contract @ a Lard-like salary as primarily defensive sub on their bench.

same. i dunno if he can stick at 3b defensively or size-wise.

Don't want Hanley...yes he has the talent to be the best player in the game, but he his attitude sucks. If there was a way to calculate intangibles, Ramirez has a negative WAR when he's in one of his moods.

ha!

I think he'll eventually move to 3rd. And that's some left side of the infielder.

Saw this on MLBTR...

Alas, Ozzie Guillen didn't participate in the derby, but he did speak to the press, contesting recent reports that Hanley Ramirez has resisted moving to third base. "It never came from Hanley that he was upset. That was from the press," Guillen said, according to Manuel Lira at L
