The point is the same as it's always been, in both football and basketball - all college sports, really - self-promotion for the private media organizations who do/sponsor the rankings.

5 guys in double figures . Rebounding was much better in the second half and we ended up 36/33.. those offensive rebounds by msu dried up in the second half.

I would think the committee would take ranking into account in determining the seedings. Don't they?

Probably not much.

I've heard of the term RPI for years; now I'm hearing bracketology terms something like quadrant one wins and quadrant two wins and quadrant one losses and quadrant two losses and other esoteric terms that I don't know what they are and I've never heard of before.

The polls are still voted on by biased sportswriters and biased coaches (probably assistant coaches really) who likely don't care much and are really probably just mailing it in.

The pollsters likely don't think of those bracketology things much when voting on the rankings.
