He allegedly (i assume they have a wiretap or an email because they quoted him directly) told his chief of staff to tell the Navy to "go fuck themselves" after they refused to arrange a tour of a base for him so he could claim a trip as official business.

That can't play well in the Navy town that sent him to congress...

I certainly didn't vote for him as a result of anything being uncovered unrelated to the 2016 election witch hunt. My vote was not influenced by anything other than his message!

yet trump will ultimately be held to account, the other won't. :-( Rod and Bob have conflicts IMO but there is nobody with any authority to do so interested in appointing a second special counsel it would seem. But it's weird to demand the DOJ spend it's time going after people who are not in power and can't do shit, while allowing openly corrupt fraudsters to continue looting the government and handing out quid pro quos so brazenly.

If nothing else, in my mind, this at least restores a very small bit of my faith in our government, and more importantly will hopefully send a signal to others that it's not totally "open season" just because TRUMP, a career fraudster is in office.

Someone else noted that Manafort (and other DC lobbyists like him) had been doing this shit for a long time; he only got in trouble now because he tried to do it officially, from the inside. I take that as another small token of evidence that we still have some standards.
