If the Lions rebound and make the playoffs, should Schwartz still be fired?

I got a good laugh out of how you stated "if they don't lose their last two games". I don't even like their chamces against the jags/texans. And there isn't anything wrong with saying that the qb needs to work on something. If it's obvious, then i don't see what the problem is. We say "stafford is playing like shit", while a head coach would say "there are some areas where he could improve". Schwartz says idiotic shit like "stafford is an accurate quarterback. Probably the most accurate quarterback in the nfl", which just isn't true. Smh i find myself venting every chance i get.

I like how everyone talks about practice so much to the press "weve seen him do it in practice.", "he does it all the time in practice".....then start doing it in the games!!!!!!!!!!!

They do it all the time in practice because...................THEY ARE PRACTICING AGAINST OTHER LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't say I agree with you here.

I like Stafford. He has a ton of talent. Do I like the way he played last night. Fuck no. But it doesn't make him a horrible QB.

He ABSOLUTELY needs better coaching, though. I think you can win a SB with Matt Stafford. He has had the weight of the franchise on his shoulders for 5 years now. Nobody wins with that much pressure.

Think about it. Name ONE other QB who has had as much of the responsibility of winning (for what has been the NFL's worst franchise over the last 20 years) as he has?

Nobody.

Not Brady.
Not Ruthless Raper
Maybe Peyton.....but he had more help.
Not Eli.
Not Romo.
Not Breese.
Not Wilson
Not Kaepernick

Seriously......look at CJ this year. Not one person on this board, or on the planet for that matter, will deny he is the best WR in the game. Probably between him and AP as the best (NON-QB) offensive player in football. CJ has dropped 6-7 BIG passes this year. Has he made that many.....of course. Two HUGE drops last night. The Cincinnati drop that was picked at the 3 yard line. Couple big drops in other losses too. Plays that if he makes, entire GAMES might have turned out differently.

But is ANYONE on here gonna blame him for this 7-7 season? NOPE. All on Staff.

My point is.....as bad as he has played at times.....there are SO many other players/situations/mistakes that have also cost us games this year to put THAT much blame on him.

Just my $.02

My thought is if he was a better passer those stupid plays like when cj was hit and the ball popped out wouldn't have matter. Same with last night. He completes more passes and doesn't over throw everyone that cj play matters little.

You would look good in practice going against the Lion's secondary!

The first cj drop was huge though, it completely fucked the Lions early momentum. We go up 10 or 14 there the Ravens start looking for tds not fgs, forcing Flacco to take risks

It is easy to say that the Lions would have gone up 10 or 14....but it is just as easy to say that the very next play Stafford would have done something stupid and turned the ball over.

Or the fact Lions can't hold leads anymore. They could have gone up by 50 and still found a way to lose.

Once again a pass for cj

CJ had one terrible drop in the first quarter. The second one was counted as a drop but really should not have been. It was a bad throw that forced him to stop, go to his knees and reach behind a bit. It hit both hands but this is the kind of thing that some of us are talking about with Stafford. CJ was only about 10-15 yards across the line wide open down the middle of the field. That was a bad pass but the "best WR in the league" should still make that catch.

I don't think it was a bad throw at all. Bad play by CJ, all on him. Honestly think Elam rattled him with his comments about being physical with him. Elam already destroyed Randall Cobbs knee this season. I don't think CJ wants that

You would think the Lions coaching staff would take those Comments by Elam and try and run a play like a sweep with Bell or something and maybe we could get a linemen on Elam.. Someone big to light him up.. Then the linemen helps up Elam after crushing him and says "if you touch CJ I will punish you"..
Oh well Ravens are the champions for a reason.. Good coaching discipline team and a team that can adjust. Great fundamentals... Frustrating we are 1-4 in our last five..
But it is 75% on the Jim and his staff

Yes dropping passes is human but that throw on the two point conversion had no shot to be caught.. Frustrating but Matt is really regressing this year.. He has thrown the ball so poorly this year..He needs to admit that and so does our coaching staff instead of defending him..

bad throw may have been a strong statement but the throw was off enough that a wide open CJ had to go down to his knees and reach back to get his hands on it.
