Lions 2019 Draft

Just saying there is not abig percentage difference between high and low pressure rates. Lions need to cover much better too no matter the rush. Or at least not blow assignments as much as they do. Force more turnovers too

Lions save 9 million by cutting Lang (injury)
6 million by cutting Quin (runs like a mattress now)
4.1 million by cutting Lawson (PI and torchings)
3 million saved by cutting Christian Jones (does nothing)
3 million saved by cutting Tavon Wilson (liability in passing game)
In 2019

Another 25 million would be nice on top of the 42 million they should have

Beautiful. Every one of those guys need to be shown the door. Roughly around 70MIL in cap space. Spend it wisely!!!!

Hand, Robinson and Snacks are fine at DT. Diggs fine at SS. Davis will get one more shot at ILB. Kennard could be a pass rushing SAM but they have him playing DE. So get two DEs and move Kennard (Okwara is decent depth plus Kennard is De depth then)

Two Des, CB2, nickel CB, FS (depending on Walker), weakside LB
Power back but not a huge need with Kerryon as work horse
slot WR
RG if they cut Lang
Two tight ends
Oline depth needed other than Crosby

9 starters and depth can be filled in FA with 65 million and full draft (could be trade downs too for more picks)

9 is alot of spots to fill in one off season... even if we have 65 mil. Quin would have to have one hell of an off season. He will have money and early picks... let's see what he's got.

He better do something. No 9 win season, get a division and win a playoff game. It's about time.

Nine is literally impossible to fill in one season. Need to hit and hit hard on at least 3-4 in the draft and with all that money, bring in a stud or 2. Shoot for 5-6 impact players. That sounds crazy too. I don't think that's ever been done. I'm lowering my expectations to 3 lol

Anyone know how much of a hit it will take to release Wagner next year? Absolutely hate that non athletic shlub.... They should let Crosby get some playing time towards the end of the season...

Crosby is 100% the future

Is Levy still on the books?

As stated previous...we probably need to fill 9 spots next year if we even want to be considered competitive.

Were currently slotted for a top 10 pick. This draft is so defensive front 7 heavy which is our obvious need.

Current top 20 projected defensive front 7 include:
Bosa DE
Quinnen Williams DT
Clellin Ferrel DE
Derrick Brown DT
Ed Oliver DT
Devin White LB
Jeffrey Simmons DT
Zach Allen DT/DE
Raekwon Davis DT/DE
Rashan Gary DT/DE
Christain Wilkins DT/DE
Josh Allen Rush LB
Dexter Lawrence DT

Honorable Mention: Mack Wilson LB, Montez Sweat Rush LB

Some of these guys are going to fall to the top of the 2nd round. Youre not going to get the 2 blue chip Rushers in this draft Bosa or Ferril. You can trade down to 20ish and easily still get one of these players. Or you can grab the #1 corner in this class Greedy Williams and focus on your front in rd 2. Thatd be the strategy i go with as of right now. Our secondary is atrocious and you absolutely can not have Lawson on the field anymore. Tabor has proven hes a dud. Get Williams in rd 1 and replace Quin with Walker. Slay, Williams, Walker, Diggs....youre in a better spot.

I thought we'd go heavy on defense for several years and never did so I'm not confident they will in the upcoming draft. I could see them drafting a TE and WR for their 135m bust at QB.
