Lions 2019 Draft

Wouldn't cross it off this is Detroit we already drafted 2 TE's in first 20 picks. We need front 7 but when has this team ever drafted on what we need.. They'll screw it up somehow.

Quinn has done a very good job of drafting. I will bet you $100 that we don't take a TE in the 1st rd. Stop trolling...

If they stay 5 probably not but if they win 2-3 games it's as likely as any other position. If Quinn has drafted well why are we so bad? He might have drafted better than the last guy but in 3 years we still suck.

YA to your point the draft is going to depend alot on what we do in FA this year. We just simply have soooo many holes to fill that eventhough GMs dont typically like to draft for need were simply going to have to if we need to fill that many spots.

We need to find a way to get 2 impact defensive players in FA and then 2 more in the draft. That?s a BIG task. It could turn around an entire unit.

We need pieces offensively too, but I feel like you can use later round picks to do that. There are always teams willing to deal players before the draft....4th and 5th round picks can land you some nice pieces.

FA market for some key holes we have is kind of bare...

WR for example youre looking at taking fliers on guys like MArtavious Bryant, Josh Gordon or hoping some underperformers like Kevin White you can sign and they actually stay on the field. John Brown, Tyrell Williams, Quincy Enunwa are some sleeper FAs.

Probably need to overpay for a starting RG so youre looking at 7-8mil for a Iupati, Levitre or Saffold.

I like John Brown. I?m wondering if a guy like John Ross would be available in a trade. That guy has done NOTHING for Cincinnati and maybe they might look to move him. Marquis Goodwin from San Fran? We need speed. We need it badly.

I don?t know if either of those guys would be available....but outside of Brown only Phillip Dorsett and Tavon Austin bring an element of speed.

We suck this yr but there's talent on this team. The draft proves that. No idea why we're so bad this yr because under Caldwell we made a couple playoff appearances.

I expected, when Quinn was hired, better than 9-7 seasons. And they look worse this season. There might be talent but it's not a talented team. Reminds me of Gym Shorts win 10 games, followed by 4.

They are worse. That's why I have no idea what's going on. I'm hearing rumors that Stafford and Patricia are not on the same page...idk lol. The hiring of Patricia might be the problem in itself because they shouldn't be playing like this.

I would HOPE they "aren't on the same page". If they were and these were the results that would NOT be a good thing.

Here's a point I know more than one of us brought up when Patricia was hired. Is he going to tweak his style now that he doesn't have Tom Brady to win him games. Let's face it......all Patricia had to do as the DC in New England was not fuck it up and let Belicheck and Brady go get W's.

Brady isn't a Lion. Neither is AR. And that's fine and dandy, but I have to wonder if our lack of aggression on the defensive side of the ball is the result of his style in NE? Has he neutered Cooter (get it?). I haven't been a big fan of JBC for a couple years now, but we seem to have taken a massive step back in the aggressiveness department on both sides of the ball. We were a more vertical offense last year. We were DEFINATELY more aggressive defensively last year.....and that's saying something....because I didn't think we were all that aggressive.

I don't know. Just the rumblings of a guy who expected a small step back......not a Bob Beamon sized jump!

I think the defense struggled to adjust to Patricia's new scheme. I also think he had to shoehorn some players in spots he'd rather not. Quin has regressed, Ansah isn't where he was, and the corners outside of Slay have been really bad. I think another draft and a free agent or two will make a huge difference next year. Even these last few games outside of the Rams game have shown huge improvements stopping the run.

I've got nothing to say about the offense, really. Lions have their first legit threat at RB and still suck shit. I think the scheme, or lack of it, is primarily to blame. Add to that, Stafford has had one of his worst seasons in recent memory.

they might be the worst 3rd down defense ive ever seen. We actually get a nice amount of sacks, force a lot of 3rd n longs then everyone turns into poo once its 3rd n long. Its crazy....
 
Giants won, also Cleveland, and GB and SF way up so our pick might be secure after the week anyway.
