Lions hire Darrell Bevell as OC

What a dumb question. He's a good QB....end of story.
What does any QB in the NFL routinely do better than the next guy??? Wtf does that even mean???

I was trying to understand what you were meaning by he can make all the throws. Isn't that the most basic ability you should have to play QB?

You made it sound like being able to make a throw is some kind of rare ability...so I assumed it must mean he does something better than most, and you could back up your statement with some type of fact or evidence.

His arm is rare. That's for sure. He makes throws that a ton of QBs can't make actually. That's what I should have said. . You want evidence? Open your fucking eyes and look at the garbage Stafford's been surrounded by for most of his career. Especially in the running game. Defenses know we're throwing and he's still done a great job. He's had one great WR in CJ. One!! Then some decent to good WRs like Burleson, Tate and MJ. Golladay needs to be that real #1 threat and do Calvinesque things. Get him a fucking TE too. There's nothing wrong with trying to help out your QB. You guys cry when Quinn tries to get #9 more weapons. It's the oddest shit ever lol. Every team in the NFL tries to surround their QB with weapons. That's ok ....

How have we not invested in him?

He has a strong arm, so did guys like Cutler. Strong arm doesn't mean elite QB.

We had one of the best deep threats in the league in Marvin Jones, the best YAC receiver in the league with Tate and Golladay as a #3. He faced quick pressure (under 3 seconds) the second least percentage in the league, had a RB that was near the top in YPC....but it wasn't enough for him this year.

We have a average QB, we can win with him, but he can't be the focal point, just too inconsistent.

No we can't.

We are stuck with him for probably two more years we need to keep building out best unit (defense) and hope Johnson stays healthy and run the ball. Zenner is a nice compliment to him, he seemed to be a lot better this year. Would be nice to have another RB as insurance, but focus on the defense.

We just need to accept we have an average QB, teams win with average.

NFL is just a lot easier when you have an elite QB, we don't have that luxury, not many teams do.

Don't get me wrong. I like the guys we've surrounded him with but guys like Tate and MJ are not studs. They're #2's on another team at their worst or barely 1b's.
Stafford's a good QB. He's better than average. I agree though. Time to focus on other parts of that offense. Get him a stud running game and he'll be great in that offense. Worked for Wilson's career :)

Hope some of these connections pan out. I think Mike Davis would be a good fit here, bruiser-type and filled in well when needed.

Davis would be a nice fit for sure. I would rather them draft a guy or go get Hunt but Davis for sure.

Bad hire after bad hire, leading to a first year coach... I'm not sure we even know what our strengths are yet. I'd love to say the team has an idea of what's in the pantry, but in reality, I have zero confidence in any coach or GM over the last 10 years to even understand what they have.

But I too am very surprised at how the fan base has already given up on Patricia.
