Lions trade for Damon Harrison and is voted Lions Defensive Player of 2018

If he does play Sunday, he will not have a bye week to recover at all this season... Does that concern anyone? I figure he only plays 40 - 60ish percent of the snaps anyways, which is still a lot, he should be ok without that week. I don't know how players feel about the bye but I'm sure they CHERISH it and it would suck to see him have to play all 17 weeks, but I for sure want him to!

Interesting. I wonder if the CBA has anything regarding a player having to play 17 games if he misses his bye because he is traded.

Near constant losing must take its toll physically and mentally, plus he would be on the field more when his offensive counterparts on the Giants most often fail to sustain drives. So its not just about how many games, but time spent on the field per game, especially when opposing teams are chewing up clock via runs in the 4th quarters. Lets hope for something that Lions fans and teams over the years have very rarely seen or accomplished, which is clinching a WC berth, or better still a division title a couple weeks before the end of the regular season.

Currently the way the CBA looks at it is the players get their base salary paid over 17 weeks. There is nothing the specifies a player should get more if he's traded and plays in all 17 weeks.

Players do get a additional amount for playoff games played, but this is typically a flat amount to all players.

Man I hope he plays. Seattle is 3-3 also . Could be a tiebreaker type game for playoff seeding !

Same with the Panthers....both games are really must wins for potential playoff seedings. Of course earning an NFC playoff bye b/c of division-winning record is the most ideal outcome! Releasing Williams makes it most likely that Snacks plays vs Seattle.

I think it?s going to be a good game. I am interested to see if we can keep running the ball so well.....and if we can?t......do we open up the offense. We?ve clicked this year when we can run it....but it seems like when the run game isn?t there we become very VERY predictable.

I think we win a tough defensive battle.

I certainly wasn't talking about you. You don't seem to be the "sensitive" type.

I'm not "sensitive". I just don't want to read peoples political bullshit tho. And bringing it over here from another group? Dude lol. We all have our beliefs and political views but i'm not sharing them on this board lol.

You get it now???

Seattle is 25th allowing 4.7 YPC. Lions can run on Seattle

Article from one of my favorite fantasy blogs

Going Deep: The Elite Detroit Lions Defense

Some good statistical highlights, they also point out that the run defense looks worse than it actually is because of four big plays.

Still part of me thinks the author is fucking nuts.

We'll see how the defense shakes out moving forward, I am encouraged by Patricia's history of defenses improving over the course of a season.

My take on the defense. Davis is flying to the ball and out of position less and less each week.

The sacks have put a small band aid on the fact the front 7 is so terrible. They are still bottom 5 in creating pressure....which you all said was more important than sacks the past decade.

Lawson is the worst starting CB in the league.

Quin is aging and weve gone a half of season without even calling his name. No one in the secondary really makes plays which is a product of the front seven not ever causing any pressure.

Overall i see some improvement but im not expecting to win any games because of our defense at this point. The 2 games our run game was successful drastically helped our defense (NE and MIA). But as you could see from the GB game...if a team needs to score, they will.

In the end...our offense has a good day or we lose.

Damn right he did. He was the only one that showed up actually

Well, except for Marvin Jones. Of course, I played him over the past 2 weeks because my better WRs were on byes. He didn't do shit...but as soon as I put him on my bench he goes off.

Story of my life in fantasy football lol

Good first game for Harrison, the guy with the least amount of lions scheme coaching and knew the least out of the playbook was our best player.

Yeah, one of the very few bright spots was there was a couple of times the lions were in third and short situations and they held tight. Harrison was a big part of that.
