lol at American cars 2.0

I do too. And I am beginning to hate M&B09 again.

Dude, you bought a Civic because you're relatively young and you make no money. People don't buy an Acadia to commute by themselves to an hourly job and then drive home. That is why *your comparison* of your Civic to the Acadia was so fucking stupid.

The reason you have a Civic is because you can't afford anything else. You are in a situation of having to buy within a certain price point because you have no other options.

So you chose to buy a Honda Civic. And just like the majority of posters here teasing you and making fun of you (for not buying American, for being a pussy, for being a girl, etc), I'm guessing you get just a little grief from time to time in real life.

Or, more likely, you don't really get any grief but you're just a little sensitive about owning a Honda Civic and therefore go out of your way to justify -- in your own mind -- why you do. Because you have this sense of paranoia that everyone is judging you as you roll along in your 140hp Civic.

(Oh, by the way, I'd love to see the top speed of your 2010 Civic with four adults and luggage in the trunk, but that's besides the point .... you don't have kids, or friends that you drive anywhere with).

So you start these stupid threads as your personal catharsis for every day annoyances --

People in Michigan typically support US automakers, yet you don't -- boy, you're really the ScottChicoHall villian now!

People in the parking structure you use every day driving to your job sometimes pull in backwards so you start a thread about that and the creme de la creme ..... you feel it is a moral imperative to have inside furniture on your porch and have gone to great lengths to keep that stupid topic alive.

In the world of 'entry level cars' you chose a Civic for its "reliability," among other attributes, because you can't afford the standard upkeep of a more expensive car.

You have a Civic because you chose to have one.

Stop trying to justify why you bought it when nobody else gives a shit and get used to being teased about it.

To think you could have bought an Acadia Denali like your mother-in-law .... please.

Not true at all, I can afford a lot more. I just choose to spend it other ways - like a down payment on our house.

What I'm saying is that if I did want to waste all that money on something that basically does the same thing as my civic - I'd buy a Honda or Toyota. No matter how much I originally pay for my car, I'd always like to get the most out of it rather than just simply wasting money. Even if I was Bill Gates I'd have someone drive me around in a Honda.

Personally I just like a little controversy once and a while. So I keep these topics alive and well.

By the way, my wife does not drive a truck. She drives a bad ass crossover wagon with twice the hp of your chick car.

So you live in a trailer?

Art, this thread just makes me laugh because Eric is sitting next to me and drives a Civic.

We have owned both our cars free and clear for years, a 2005 and 2008 - we're thinking of replacing the 2005.

And it's not like you need more than a couple thousand to lease a car. The downpayments I've made on both the houses we own weren't mutually exclusive to car purchases.

Geez dude, you could have at least gone with an Accord.

I do like the accords but like I said above, I just couldn't justify the extra cost and probably won't ever be able to. I'd rather put the extra money in my retirement account than spend it on a car that does similar things. In fact I'd rather buy two civics than 1 Acadia, or similar Honda SUV. To me that's why expensive cars in general just don't make sense.

Oh, well my bad. I thought the reason you would buy (2) Civics is because of the rankings you linked and the "LOL at American cars" thing.

That's the reason I would buy a Honda/Toyota over a Ford, GM, or Chrysler in any price range. Given a choice between a $40,000 Honda Pilot or two Honda Civics I would take the two Honda Civics any day.

Found this hilarious review of the Civic, based on the category's Target Market --

Let?s say you?re the archetypical Civic buyer: a youngish girl shopping for a stylish, cheap, reliable, girly car for around $16k. What options do you have? Pretty much just the Civic, the Scion tc, and the VW new Beetle. (you could also buy a used Mustang V6, which is quite girly, but remember we said STYLISH and RELIABLE)

Compared to the competition, the civic makes a lot of sense. The Scion tc is a decent car, but the Civic feels like a more responsible choice, with better resale value. (for some reason Hondas tend to keep their values while Toyotas, and especially Scions, depreciate quite a bit more). As bad as the Civic?s engine and transmission are, the 2.5L 5 cylinder in the Beetle is? considerably worse (and much much worse on fuel economy). So really, the Civic is the ideal choice, especially if you don?t want to worry about the car breaking down, or care that it doesn?t have much power).

Although I have to admit, it really doesn?t fit someone my size (I?m 6? 1?). But then again, it?s really not really designed for someone like me is it?

HAHAHAHAHA!! Pretty much sums it up. Besides this market you also have the one that DJKevinSmalls represents. But then you're talking about street racers, and Fart cans and lowering the car ....but those races all take place waaay after 9pm, so.

I'm not sure I understand - according to what you just posted, from who knows where, a used Mustang is a "girl car"....and while looking around I found these,

2012 civic (slightly new body style)
http://www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/honda/2012-honda-civic-si-review-video-1549.html
"Exterior changes are minimal compared to the new coupe, with black gloss front upper and lower grilles plus fog lights, while out back there?s a subtle trunk lid spoiler, a new rear bumper with black painted diffuser and an exhaust tip. And of course there are the requisite ?Si? logos. While a similar pattern to what we?ve seen in the past, considering the young male target buyer for this car, some more aggressive bodywork would be nice. How about one of those clean Honda skirt packages?"

2006 Civic (my 2010 body style)
http://paultan.org/2006/03/09/2006-honda-civic-in-depth/
"Honda?s target market for the 2.0S are young entrepreneurs or young men from rich backgrounds in the 25 year old to 35 year old range."

So it would seem like Honda disagrees with your assessment. Given the company would likely target who buys the car the most - it seems like that would be males. And in fact, I'd fit right in with that second one.

It's actually great working for UM. But I'd say I'm far above the curve owning a new house and new car at 25. I'd assume most people talking with me about this have at least a 10+ year head start in their careers and I'll probably have my house paid off before most of you do (as far as age).

Dude, you drive a fucking chick car.!!

Why do you continue to re-post shit you posted 9 months ago the last time you bragged about your Barbie Car?!

We get it.

and you're not a dashing young entrepreneur from a rich background either.

Too funny, him talking about the 2.0S, which he doesn't own. That is the very car that dh2dr talks about when he talks about the street-racing type that buys this car and tricks them out like on fast and furious...which is not what mb09 does...

Dudes a computer geek that is afraid to leave his hometown to get a job and drives a car that most of us wouldn't want to be seen in. Yet, he brags about it.
