Lombardi and others....FIRED

Good luck to you code. Welcome to the jungle.

Prepare for LKP to be a ridiculous optimist to the point of trolling, and Tony to call you a dumbass, fucktard, etc... Don't take offense to it. Everyone else is cool.

You're the only dumbass here, buddy.

Everyone on this board sans two are good posters. If I don't show it, I appreciate everyone's input and ability to not make it personal.

My heart bleeds because some dumb fuck like yourself doesn't think i'm a good poster ....hahahahaaaaaaa!!! Oh shit!!! Pfffffffffft!!!!

Tell me on thing, fuckstick....just one. Ebron is shit, right? Well, he's starting to look like the #2 choice in this offense behind CJ. Agree? What happened to Tate? Could be a number of things, right? Can't wait for your response.......gonna be something like this..lol

1) Stafford is holding back Tate
2) Stafford is shit
3) Nobody covers Ebron...that's why he's open
4) Ebron is the #2 now?! Derrrrrrrrrr

Give credit where credit is due. Ebron has obviously surpassed Tate as the 2nd option in this offense. Chew on that....

Much appreciated.

And this is probably the most frustrating season I remember in my 30 years of fandom for that reason. We suck but it's really hard telling what we even have because our roster doesn't seem to be being utilized to their strengths.

Dont listen to a fucking thing that this retard dubbsco has to say. You're cool in my book, man. Say something dumb and i'll call your ass out lol. Its mostly in good fun but there are some pussies in this group that get offended easily. Its quite humorous really lol...

Can't blame the OL for 3 + years. Too inconsistent.. '15 is just like '14,'13, and '12.

This year could've been a very good one for him, that's all I'm saying. I just don't think his career is even close to being done here. I just dont. Bring another qb in to push him, that's fine. Unless it's a 1st rounder, and the organization needs to put him on the field, he won't see the field. At 27, he's just getting started, imo. Just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that will end up a backup somewhere, he'll start until he retires, or he has just fumes left and isn't ready to go.

Of course it's not done. Dan O. is still in the NFL. Nonetheless, when a QB doesn't come through against decent competition on the road there's a problem. We need better production. There haven't been many games in recent memory where the team struggles and Matt wills us to a victory. Where he's the man that gets it over the top. None on the road against solid comp.

All we know from Matt is he can look good against inferior comp., like the Bears at home. That's not me hating, that's fact. If people are going to continue to blame the OL then when Matt does well maybe the OL should get credit. Can't have it both ways.

And if he is here until he retires, God help us all.

I still think he's a good enough QB to get the job done, but it might be time to move on from him. Hate to say it, but it might. The Lions at least need to draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd to give him that push. I'd hate to see the guy just walk. Maybe trade him to a team like Houston or Dallas if possible?

Hey finally coming around to what I said last year. You're starting to catch up.

No rookie is beating out Stafford. I don't see anyone in this draft class that will beat him out in 2017.

He might get an extension this offseason (remember they extended him after 2012).

Unfortunately, The Lions and Stafford are stuck with each other.

He is tradeable. 11 million dead is better than 22 million. Then 2017 would be free with no hit. They aren't stuck with him due to money.

New team would surely give him a new deal to avoid the 17 and 16 million cap hits in 2016 and 2017.

But again, there isn't a rookie or player in this draft class better than him.

Cousins, Fitzpatrick, Moore are steps down. And may not be available.

Sam Bradford is a risk and may not be available.

there is a QB in this class that will end up as good as he is now or better. The problem is nobody knows who it will be!

Who cares, we aren't winning a title with Stafford next year.
I would take a rookie for a year and perhaps he could become like Carr in year 2. Or at least like Bridge-water.

It's stupid to say there isn't a QB better than Stafford. There could be, but perhaps not in the 1st year. What we have now is not working, we've seen that for years. Unless people are happy with the best possible outcome being sneaking into the playoffs and being 1 and done. If that's what we strive for, that can be done with Stafford occasionally.

We can win a Super Bowl with Stafford.

Yes we can win a super bowl with Stafford on the roster. Patriots did it with Jimmy Garrapollo last year, Seahawks did it with Tavaris Jackson, Baltimore did it with Tyrod Taylor. There are plenty of teams that can win a superbowl with a very good to average backup QB. Stafford would be a very good backup.

He's hit his ceiling. With every QB who gets to the next level, there is a real specific moment or season that you can point to and say, "Yeah, this is when he finally broke through that wall and became great." And they generally never look back.

I thought this guy broke through in 2011, but he's completely regressed and just plateaued. He has had his moments to step up and grab this team and push them to the next round of the playoffs, and he just hasn't done it.

Going to be real funny watching you guys squirm though when/if a rookie comes in here and becomes our QB because there isn't one QB that truly pops out. Cook or Paxton??? lmfao.

Maybe not better than Stafford, but who? Cook is a carbon copy of Stafford and Paxton plays in a spread offense. Are there any QBs in college coming out in the draft that could step in right away?

No they're not

I guess I should have said Lions fans are stuck with him. I really don't see the Lions moving away from Matt and as long as they keep extending him and paying him huge sums of money he will be content to stay with the Lions.

As a Michigan fan, I can tell you one massive difference between the two: Cook's a bonafide winner on the biggest stage. Just out of sheer curiosity, I went back and looked at Stafford's games in college against ranked teams. Other than two really strong outings in his last two games at Georgia, he never did anything amazing.

Stafford was drafted purely on potential and not what he did for Georgia. Georgia had enough around him that he didn't need to do a ton. Cook's put his team on his back multiple times when they need him most and he's excelled.
