Lombarid on Staffords Picks

Greenwood and Green haven't been torched at all when played. In fact, we had some strong defensive performance with them playing. Ravens game no TDs with a strong Green second half, Giants second half with Greenwood and Green both starting and Vikings game playing some.

Eh not too sure if I put a lot of stock into those games. Flaco and Eli had arguably the worst seasons of their careers and the Vikings are well the Vikings.

I agree with you on Houston though, I`m not too worried about him, he will have a bounce back season.

Pete Carrol played against him a bunch....it wasn't that unheard of/lucky.

Lol...ok. Bullshit and you know it. He was drafted in the 5th fn rd and he's the BEST in the business and will get QB money. Like you said, Carroll played against him. Hell, he tried to recruit him too!!! Oh but he knew Sherman would be available in the 5th a few years ago, right?? lol. He was a fn WR who turned into a shutdown corner. That doesn't happen. The Seahawks got LUCKY.

Totally, ive always said anytime you hit on a corner after round 1 its lucky. To get a shut down corner that late is absolutely unheard of. But to say they didn't know he had any talent is unfair...carrol was familiar with him. Carrol had very very talented receivers...Sherman played against good competition when he faced them. Carrol saw first hand how he would fare.

I never said anything about his talent.

russel Wilson rd 3
They drafted 4 of their starting olineman...including sweezy in rd 7
Baldwin and kearse were UDFAs at Wr and they drafted golden tate
Red Bryant 4th rd
Brandon Mebane 3rd rd
drafted all 3 of their lbs. wagner rd 2, Irvin rd 1, malcom smith ROUND 7!
Kam Chancellor 5th rd
Richard Sherman 5th
Byron Maxwell 6th round
KJ wright 4th round
Earl Thomas rd 1

SOoooo in conclusion they drafted (claimed UDFA) 17 of their 22 starters. 11 of them were round 3 or later. If we started 11 of our round 3 or later guys we would be 1-15 ...and that's being generous. So when you say its lucky ....I say its a great organization and great coaching. Cause you simply CANT be lucky that many times.

That defense that is being considered as one of the greats a long with the bears, ravens, tb and old pit teams.......ya its a bunch of mid round bums (7 of their starters on defense were drafted rd 3 or later by them). Youre telling me its all just luck? lol

actually...just for fun lets throw a team together of guys weve drafted in rd 3 or later and see what wed look like:

qb kellen moore
rb theo riddick
wr1 c fuller
wr2
te fauria
ot fox (fa)
rg warlord
c raoila
lg
lt laadrian waddle

de d taylor
dt a fluellen
dt
de w young (FA)
lb whitehead
lb t lewis
lb levy
cb bentley
cb green
s

so not only couldn't we even field a complete team....the team would be absolute shit lol.

We didn't draft Bell or even signed him year one. But I take your point seriously and realize Seattle's organization, much better.

ya I gave the org credit for gtting udfa guys like bell and waddle. I did the same for sea in Baldwin and kearse. but ya youre right...I forgot bell went to NO and had a stint there so it shouldn't count lol. guess Riddick becomes the starter lol.

You can't even focus on the topic for 5 seconds, can you? Why rip the Lions organization? Oh because you're obsessed with hatred. I get it ....(a little?)

Sherman was drafted in the 5th rd on raw talent and potential. Carrol knew this guy from college and petsonally tried to recruit him to USC. He had a beat on him from the jump. They took and now he's the best in the business who will get ridiculously paid. No way on Earth they knew this kid would be the next Deion. Simply put, THEY GOT LUCKY WITH SHERMAN.

He is going to get paid. And what is funny even if the Lions had got him in the 5th round, now that its time to get paid people on this board would bitch that we cant have that many high priced players and we need to let him and Suh walk.

maybe I wrote too many words for you to follow. But its not "luck" when they've turned an entire defense full of 4th 5th and 6th rounders into the best defense in the league. It was a very simple example of what happens when you draft well and then coach up late round picks....why do you have to make it so complicated?

exactly, cause we cant afford guys that are about to get "paid." mayhew blew his wad on 3 players....and that's who we are stuck rolling with. The only depth we can afford is from the draft and we typically fuck that up too.

eague. It was a very simple example of what happens when you draft well and then coach up late round picks....why do you have to make it so complicated?

I'm not making it complicated. I'm talking about how one guy (Sherman) has turned into a superstar after being drafted into the 5th rd. Of course you make it about every player on the defense while degrading the Lions organization.
The Seahawks draft well but to get a shutdown CB in the 5th, the best in the game has a ton of luck behind it. He was passed over multiple times by every team. A LOT OF LUCK.Sorry you're too fn stupid to see that.

Damn, you're a sad, depressing little dude eh? lmfao

lol and how many posts does it take until you understand its NOT one guy? I even listed all of them for you and what round they were drafted. THEY ALL contribute on a high level. The MVP of the AFC champ game AND the super bowl was a 7th round lb. They were a physically dominating defense and the most physical guy on the field was a 5th round safety. If the lions organization could do anything even close to that then I wouldn't have to degrade them....now would I?

Well, personally I'm not happy that the Lions are sad. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that it's not exactly what you meant.

nah not happy...but the comedic and entertainment value goes up on this board when you get to watch some kool aid homer give stat after stat about how the lions are just tricking everyone into believing they suck...when in reality they are the super bowl champions....every year.

But it just doesn't happen on the regular. Do you get that? Name the last defense with apparent scrubs like these guys just killing it. I'll help you, it was the Dolphins "no name" defense in the 70's. To build a defense alone with late round picks is crazy talk but to build a superstar defense with basically scrubs is magical. And it takes skill of a scout and a shitload of LUCK.

You better not include me in that group.
