Look at this Gem

Stafford does not deserve 19 picks. It's inflated by 7 that weren't his fault and high attempts. HIs % is fine and he moves the ball well and scores alot of points for the Lions with not much help from turnovers and short fields like other QBS get.

what you don't understand is all QBs have a similar number of INTs that "weren't their fault".

There were 18 QB's that had more than 450 passing attempts last year. Stafford was 14th in that list.

I don't care about all QBS. I care about Stafford. And with that many attempts, 12 ints his fault only is fine. Not all QBs have 7 ints on others. Especially given how well he moves the ball and scores points. He is a good QB.

When the team is 13 in scoring points especially as a passing team it says you're average. When you're team is 18 in quarterback rating it says you're below average. When you're team is 18 in quarterback rating, when other teams had backups playing and we didn't, it says you stink.

I'm not sure how you get to 'moves the ball well and scores points'.

Detroit has to deal with longer fields than most teams(only 22 turnovers) and had less defensive points scored. Given their turnovers and defensive scores compared to the 12 teams ahead of us, Detroit's offense is vey good at moving the ball and scoring points on offense. Again I'm informed, you just look at the stats that don't tell the true story.

Why is that? BECAUSE THEY STINK..

And you can't continue to say they're good at scoring points and yet rank 13.

The stats tell the truth you just can't understand them.

They don't truly rank 13. They are much higher in PPG scored striclty offensively. I'll show you how that's calculated.

22 turnovers can be worked on. Big reason Schwartz got fired but some of that is bad luck with only 7 fumbles recovered despite alot of forced fumbles (bad recovery rate bad luck). 15 picks was average (could get more from the CBS this year than 2, Houston healthy playing more than 12 games and several others hurt and Slay in year 2).

actually weve been telling you this all along. long fields, not causing turnovers, cant score on defense....all key indicators that you suck and have no depth. Weve been telling you this for years. Its been the same story for years...you just chose to make up your own.

the big reason Schwartz got fired was bad luck? man our gm is brilliant....

Look at teams starting in opponents 20 and also defense/special team returns.

Detroit is truly 9th in offensive PPG. And the difference between 9th and 5th is 8 points on the entire season. Detroit is just as good as Chicago/GB/Cincy/SD in points score. Denver, Philly, Saints and Patriots are the only better scoring teams really. And again this doesn't factor turnovers/special teams starting at the 40 or better either which makes life easy for the offense. Detroit had the longest to go to score points.

All those charts doesn't take into account the turnovers and starting position for points. Detroit scores just as well as all the top teams despite longer fields.

And only 7 fumbles recovered is bad luck with the amount of forced fumbles they had. And 2011 they had 34 turnovers forced. Great job Mayhew, you'll get normal luck soon enough and a healthy WR core again.

How can we be so bad at starting position I thought this team was talented throughout? Yep, turnovers - how can talented teams throughout make that many mistakes?

You can be very talented and turnove prone. Detroit scores a ton and that shows Bush and Staffords talent. Bad luck is a big part of the recovery rates for fumbles. The majority of 16 games Detroits recovery rate was bad on offense too. The 7 fumbles in the blizzard with most recovered made it look better than it really is most of the season. Some of Staffords picks were flukey as well as some of the fumbles. And sometimes the other team just makes a great play even though Detroit is the more talented team. And sometimes a DB is just in the right place at the right time after a tip.

Detroit offense is going to be good and the defense can make stops. Tops in 3rd down %. The turnovers will come.

3 of 4 years under mayhew bad luck. 2009 was a rebuild from millen. 2010 was still part rebuild. I agree they sucked under millen, 1990s were solid (6 playoffs in 10 years) but had no qb so couldn't win in the playoffs in a strong nfc and they sucked in the 70s/80s(other than sims years).

I only care about the mayhew years because mayhew is a good gm. Anything prior has noting to do with 2014.
