Get StartedTate was their number 2 and Baldwin is better than Durham. Yet Seattle took Durham in Round 4 over Baldwin. Seattles defense had 39 turnovers, ony reason Wilson was a winner. Wilson can't carry that team with a passing game alone. Stafford can carry Detroit with a passing game, I've seen it done.
Detroit's defense has that turnover capability and a better front 7 than Seattle. Slay/Bentley were young and devleoping and will be more aggresive now with Austin but have the talent to match the 6 picks tallied from Browner/Thurmond/Maxwell last year (4 Slay, 2 Bentley). Mathis has had better int seasons(one 8 in a season like Sherman) in the past. Houston needs to get healthy. If Sherman had a bum hamstring and toe injury he doesn't get 8 picks like 2013. Between Mathis/Houston (3 Mathis, 5 Houston) they can get 8 to match Sherman. 4 Detroit CBs can get 14 picks this year with aggression and development of the talented young guys. Quin/Ihedigbo (5 Quin, 3 Ihedigbo) can match the 8 from Thomas/Chancellor. Levy/Tulloch with 7 in 2013 did top the 5 Seattle LBs got and Detroit added Van Noy. So if they fall short at CB or safety by 2 picks, the LBs can pick up Detroit. And Seattle got a lucky one from DL Clinton McDonald. Detroit can get that with a tipped ball.
Detroit has a better front 7, better Oline pass pro, better QB who can caryr an offense and more weapons when healthy now by far with Calvin, Tate and Ebron, equal safeties and CBs are not as far off as you think especially with Browner and Thurmond GONE from Seattle.
Wilson is on a cheap rookie contract for like 500k stafford is already paid. It allows Seattle to go out and sign whoever the fuck they want. Wait until Wilson gets his contract.
I'm rather disappointed that LKP, a guy who uses QB hurries and hits in addition to sacks to get a well-rounded measure of D-line play, is using a simple stats like interceptions/turnovers (which can easily be misleading) to compare players on two defenses. What about other important factors, such as pass breakups, coverage ability, play style, and scheme? I'm not necessarily agreeing nor disagreeing with you, I'm simply curious as to why you're pointing out interceptions?
I don't think Wilson makes that money down the road..not like Staff anyway. But it begs the question..or discussion..if you have a stellar defense and a solid running game you can draft a cheap QB and win..
I think you still have to have a smart QB that is efficient. Just putting in some scrub won't work even if you have a great defense and solid running game.
I didn't say any QB but you don't need a big priced QB to win..I know that's pretty basic but that's the point I was trying to make.
Please don't compare the Lion's defense to Seattle's. You look stupid.
You look dumb for not realizing there is comparable talent.
If you think we can be as good as the best defense in the league and think we can be a top or even the best offense, why are you being such a puss and only predicting 10-11 wins.
You look dumb for not realizing there is comparable talent.
Seattle gave up 9 fewer points a game and created 17 more turnovers than the Lions
They played the AFC South (lost to Luck) and the NFC West offenses are junk (played SF without Crabtree), Carolina offense was junk early in the year. Got hot in the playoffs with 2 home games and played Peyton in the cold. Overrated defense.
Seattle played junk offenses and QBs. Lions are better.
We played Minnesota x2, Arizona, Washington, Chicago with injured cutler, green bay without Rodgers, Cleveland, Tampa, Philly in snow storm.
According to you Romo is horrible, flacco overrated. We didn't pay a single top 10 QB in your mind and we still blew.
We had one of the easiest schedules in a league. Probably the easiest of anyone that finished under 500.
Detroit played one of the worst schedules in the NFL. Maybe the worst..Seattle's division alone was better than anyone we played..
Seattles division is full of junk offenses. Detroit playing Adrian Peterson once, Rodgers once and Chicago twice was much harder. AFC North>AFC South (Seattle gave up 30 and lost on road to Indy). NFC East and NFC South were about equal.
Seattle is overrated. They'll come back down to Earth this year. Green Bay Week 1, NFC East, AFC West offenses and San Fran with Crabtree and now Stevie Johnson.
AZ, a non playoff team out scored and had more yards than the Lions when they played.
The Lions lost to 6 non playoff teams. Seattle lost to one non playoff team.
