Michael Williams moving to Tackle

Don't worry cheeno, they'll find another reason to burn a 1st round pick on another TE next year. 5 Wide, all TEs, going to revolutionize the position.

Can't cover that...ya just can't.

You'd think but he didn't block well last season..at least based on PFF which some seem to like..

Every other year was solid to good for Pettigrew oer PFF run and pass blocking. His pass blocking was still good in 2013 too. Run blocking suffered, yet somehow we ran better than we have had in years. Reiff, Waddle, Waford and Bush/Bell. Just think if Pettigrew actually run blocks like normal next year.

A little surprised a thread about a mostly meaningless move is now at 80+ replies...oh well, carry on.

Just proves how much people overreact to the negative side on this board. I'll keep it balanced, don't worry.

for the record I was completely positive about the Williams move. I was only negative about resigning Pettigrew....which was dumb considering h is now a back up TE that will be used primarily as a run blocker. Something you can say the same thing about Williams....

Ya. Just posting what I remember reading..

He had a good year last year. If he had another 12-13 season again I would be on board with you. 41 receptions, 3 drops, 1 fumble. If he can replicate it this year, it was a good contract. Otherwise, it was a bad one. Too early to tell.

Pettigrew is not a backup tight end. he will see plenty of snaps. Lots of two tight end. He is worth 4 million per with a 2.2 million 2014 cap number.

I've anyways liked two tight end sets..and if we do that (a lot) I'm okay with signing Pettigrew and drafting Ebron..assuming they both get out there a lot and perform.

I'm sure they will. Just look at Ben Watsons snaps on New Orleans last year. Lombardi will use them both.

I don't see 60 from him..not if Ebron is out there more. And he should be, we drafted him 10.

140 for Calvin, 100 for Tate, 80 for Bush, 80 for Bell, 80 for Ebron, 60 for Pettigrew. That's only 540 attempts. Lions usually throw 630-650.

There are easily 60 targets available for Pettigrew.

So you won't cry like a chick if Pettigrew doesn't get enough looks/snaps? Even with thr money he was given? Bullshit...you'll find a way.
