My way too early yardage prediction thread

I kind of agree with Tony.... These receivers are pro's, they are paid to catch the rock. No one ever complained about the million dollar arms of Favre or Elway. Touch is fine but it's the job of the QB to get the ball at worst, near them. Stafford does that, may not be pretty but still, he gets it done.

Exactly. I find it comical that people (especially on this board) complain about Stafford throwing the ball too "hard" lol

Here is a site that shows the lions leading the league with 44 drops (which is the number I've seen most often around here). They directly say in their description what counts as a drop. They give the definition I give. They even mention the QB can be partly to blame.

http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/team-receiver-drops-percentage/2013/

Fact. Show me something that proves otherwise.

Dumb. What's the point of the stat if the QB is responsible for the drop? Should be 2 stats here. One on the receivers for drops and another on the QB for incompletions. It should be right down the fn middle. None of this, "well, maybe it was thrown too high" bullshit. Either or...

right....to see these special athletes close up is amazing. they are the best of the best at the nfl level. try catching a ball from a guy like stafford and most on this board would crap their pants. the receivers eat his passes like there candy. drops, touch, 100mph fastballs, don't mean squat because its all second nature and part of the game.

Are you that fn stupid? Not once did i say that the QB isn't responsible for dropped balls, but if it's one guy or multiple guys jobs to go through games and deternine between a drop and a incomplete pass, then you'd have to be a moron to not be able to do it. It's not that hard to decipher between the two. Now, if you're going to blame the QB for throwing the ball to hard, then you're the dense one, buddy .....what a joke.

Where did I say anything about him having a strong arm is bad? There are situations that call for different throws and that's where he struggles. I've never seen an elite QB need so many weapons to be good.

I'm not sure why so many people are afraid to admit he is not an elite QB.
Sure he had elite games, but he has very shitty games. That's why he ends up being slightly above average.

When you need to keep relying on potential to make an argument on why he can be succesful when a guy has been in the league as long as him, it's time to accept the fact he is just what we have seen.

Good news is he has an above average Oline, one of the better 1-2 backfields in the game, the best WR in the game, and an above average secondary weapons, a slightly above average QB should be able to put up top 7 numbers. He's got the weapons around him that will elevate his game.

That article was written without context. Comp % heavily based on the drops and only 12 ints were his fault. It proves me right even more when I give you the context.

There were 11 flat out drops of Interceptions. He should if had closer to 30. There were a number of catches that were only because of the receiver, those artificially made his numbers better.

You have to include the good "luck" if you are going to take out the bad.

Stafford is lucky everytime he doesn't sail a pass 10 feet over a WRs head.

I miss Jeff Komlo.. Only QB I ever seen throw a knuckle football

Catches are Stafford doing his job. Drops are Stafford doing his job. The number of bailout catches is low.

All QBs would have 11 ore more ints with dropped ints. Stafford may be unlucky and have less dropped ints than other QBs. All about the rate for that one.

You consider the triple coverage Bengals TD a bad Stafford play. In fact it was a great Stafford play. Proper read with everyone else covered, 3rd and long, Stafford puts it high enough after scrambling out of the pocket. Great play by Stafford.

I don't recall ever calling Staff elite. I love that he's our QB but i think he's a very good QB and wouldn't trade him for anyone......REALISTICALLY lol. He's not Brady, Rodgers, Manning or Brees. Get over it. Ok, he's paid but i'll take him all day.

I had a home made Komlo jersey..wrote his name on the back with a permanent magic marker..he had untapped potential and was underutilized..

Not in that way..it's more about him line driving it rather than throwing it up and over the defender.
