My way too early yardage prediction thread

The man's a gunslinger, Mitch!! :)

They why all the QB gurus..can't change a gunslinger mentality. So we have new coaches who were brought in to change a gunslinger into a passer? Furthers the point of let him do what he does and use whatever resources on defense.

Who gives a flying Frisbie about his arm, it's his feet and head that I'm worried about.

They're not here to change his whole style. They love his game. They're here to work on his footwork and some fundamentals of his game. Nothing wrong with that.

I have no faith that his feet and/or head will change..he's an average QB and he ain't improving.

He has shown he can do it (playoff year). I think the lack of team discipline snuck up and bit him on the buttocks. His youth and lack of coaching set him back a year in my opinion. I think Caldwell will straighten that ship. He has all the tools and expect he will have a monster year. I'm more concerned with the secondary and depth at LB.

He could be a one year wonder..I'm concerned with the secondary as well. And depth as always. If they can improve Stafford doesn't need to be all world..but as far as his mechanics he's been doing the same since freshman year in college.

Tony Romo got us to the playoffs that year....not stafford.

I know the dude has a ton of talent, but the mere fact we are talking about getting his fundamentals and footwork improved scares me for a guy who's been in the league for 5 years and is a number one pick. If he can't get that stuff figured out in a hurry, it may be time to look elsewhere.

Yeah, that is pretty much it. Stafford could have taken the bull by the horns but why should he, he's still gettin paid.

The old coaching staff did not see ANY problems with his fundamentals/mechanics, which is why nothing has been worked on in the last 5 years. The stupidity of the coaching staff and Staffords stubborness is to blame for the lack of Staffords progress imo. Both Schwartz and Linehan were quoted before last season saying that Stafford was mechanically sound. Which proves Schwartz and Linehan were nothing more than Stafford fanboys. Imo, the jury is still out on Stafford. The fact that Stafford is being forced to work on his weaknesses makes me think we will see a drastic change in his inconsistencies. Here's an article showing that Schwartz was content with every aspect of Stafford game.

Exactly. If your boss tells you youre doing your job well, and don't need to change a thing, do you change the way you're doing your job?

We assume Shorts was a dumbass about Staff..he had similar problems in college. Maybe the HC there was a dumbass too..we'll soon find out if Stafford is the true dumbass..

Fair enough

I literally laughed out loud.

Apparently his coach at Georgia had the exact same issue with him, because his weaknesses in college are the exact same things that are occurring now. Something tells me it's more on him and being stubborn about the way he is.

At this point, I think he is who he is. We have to deal with moments of greatness, followed by quarters where he is throwing over his WR's heads by 30 feet.

if anything can fix lapses in concentration and poor pocket presence...a cooter can.

Caldwell fixed Peyton's int problem. Peyton had more the 3 years prior to Caldwell than Stafford did.

You could look at that two ways..when he became HC, the position he holds here, his INT went back up. Now if he was QB coach here I might have more faith.
