My way too early yardage prediction thread

Caldwell fixed Peyton's int problem. Peyton had more the 3 years prior to Caldwell than Stafford did.

Caldwell took a playoff team and won 2 games when peyton went down. Aka....he needed someone as talented as peyton to succeed. Stafford cant even hold peytons jock strap.

You could look at that two ways..when he became HC, the position he holds here, his INT went back up. Now if he was QB coach here I might have more faith.

If they go 14-2 like 2009, I'll allow 20 picks.

Caldwell made Peyton. And that 2011 team it wasn't like they had a good backup QB. Very old Collins, Painter and Dan O. And they only won with Dan O 2-3. Give Caldwell a better backup and that team is fine.

We have the same back up Indy did. And Stafford isn't that good. Peyton was good 15 years before Caldwell worked with him. Youre losing your mind...

Is Stafford missing the season? Stafford>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dan O (who was the best QB on that team).

Lions defense>Indy 2011 defense

Lions run game and Oline>Indy Oline and defense

Lions 10-12 win team

I wasn't talking about any of that....I was talking about how Caldwell took a playoff team and won 2 games cause he couldn't coach anyone up after peyton went down. Its a fact...

but if youre saying It doesn't count cause they were back ups.....2 back ups finished ahead of Stafford last year in the division so I guess that makes Stafford worse than a back up?

I think the main point is Peyton made that team regardless. 2010 they were 10-6 and won the division. He goes down and the team is 2-14. Like he said....Stafford can't hold Peyton's jock strap!

Caldwell made Peyton? Oh sweet lord. I almost think the guy is trolling now.

ya I just found that odd that he made peyton...but couldn't make anyone else on the team win more than 2 games with a playoff roster. Soooo...most would say....peyton made Caldwell.

And if they win 6 or 7, what do you say about that? More than likely they are that team... 7 wins at best.

You are completely exaggerating! Manning's 1st season was very bad, I will give you that. He threw 26 TDs, but also 28 INTs with 575 attempts. But after that Manning improved. Statistically, it does look like Manning stepped up to another level once Caldwell got there, but he WAS NOT an interception machine before Caldwell.

I think that Caldwell helped him, but Manning was going to be one of the better QBs in the league regardless. Caldwell just might've helped him improve to be one of the best. There's NO WAY that Caldwell "made" Manning.

I think it's stupid to say that Caldwell and Lombardi won't be able to help Stafford improve (it remains to be seen how much), but at the same time you're making it seem like Caldwell was the best QB coach in the history of the NFL!

Stafford has better number than both Peyton and brees his first 61 games compared to their first 61. Stafford more tds, more yards and less ints than Peyton. Best td to int ratio to both

2:54 mark of this video for a table for proof

Manning had more picks than stafford!!!!

Just the fact that Stafford is working on his deficiencies has me looking forward to this season. But I'm with the majority of this board in that this is and should be a make or break season for him. He hasn't done shit yet, and who really cares about him putting up numbers if they don't translate into wins? Sink or swim time for Matt Stafford imo.

Brees and Manning both had above .500 records which matters much more. Manning and Brees never had the type of collapse that we witnessed Stafford have the last 8 games of last season. He did not look worthy of starting in the NFL.

Id take AJ Mcarron, Peppers and 70 million over Stafford. Anyone can win 7 games and lose a division to 2 back up qbs.

Well said.

Based on the numbers, Stafford should have a much better record. Team letting him down in 2009/2010 and 2012/2013. W/L is not just QB.
