My way too early yardage prediction thread

LKP, even if we agreed with you that he's a "good" QB, he needs to be better than that. You don't spend your overall #1 pick on a franchise QB, throw wads of cash at him, and live with him being "good." I think he's a decent QB who has the potential to be great. He hasn't proven anything worth a damn yet other than he can't live in the big stage, has horrible footwork, thinks he can make every throw under the sun, and has very average numbers for a guy going into his 5th year. The fact that he had a great year, and regressed is not good.

And Stafford was still in a tougher division. Packers/Bears/Vikings better than any of those teams.

But like I said the bottomline of 29 TDs, true low 60% completion, 6th in 3rd down and tons of yards proves I'm right. He's a good QB. And Stafford did better than Manning and Brees in the first 61. You can make all the excuses for Manning and Brees you want, Stafford was just like them.

Talking Drew Bledoe and Jay Fiedler as competition. Jets had Ray Lucas and Rick Mirer. Jokes

Stafford couldn't even get 9 wins in the division against 2 backups and Christian Ponder. 2012 the other 3 teams were good with double digit wins but Stafford lead the Lions to a 4 win season. 2011 there were two shitty teams and one great team in the division. The Lions finally made the playoffs but shit the bed. 2010 there were two double digit winners but two teams with 6 wins (Lions were one of them). Then there is 2009, two good teams and two shitty teams (the Lions were one of the shitty teams with a total of 2 wins)

Staffort got hurt in 2010. 2009 was a Millen rebuild. Lions were good in 2011 and so were Bears and Packers. 2012 three teams were good but Lions had injuries after a 4-4 start and should have been 6-2 start if not for special teams. 2013 Lions were a good team but underachieved with injuries and turnovers. Packers and Bears are good teams still despite their records last year. Flynn got the Packers through it and McCown was better than Cutler. Vikings would be if that had a QB. NFC North>late 90s early 2000s AFC East.

1998-2001: 80% of AFC east teams finished .500 or above 16 out of 20 (only 4 teams in those 4 years were below .500)

Past 4 seasons 62.5% of the NFC North (10 out of 16) finished at or above .500

True 60% completion? Gotta remember alot of those completions were easy throws to runningbacks

The NFC North is crap. It's a blessing that the Lions play in a really lousy division, but a curse that they continue to not be able to take advantage of it.

Wasn't there a poster on a previous board that has a huge bullshitter?
Talking about he did all these things and claimed to work for many teams and had all this inside information?

Be interesting to compare writing styles, seems like they must be the same person. There can't be two lions fans out there that are this delusional and so willing to stick to a point no matter how many times it's been proven incorrect.

For you to call the 2013 Lions a good team is an insult to the actual good teams in the NFL. That was one of the biggest outright choke jobs I've ever seen from them, and they are the most storied losing franchise in the NFL. For them to not win that division was an absolute disgrace, and it was a slap in the fans who have dealt with so much B.S.

Can't argue that post. I suspect the losing will continue as history has proven over and over.

For me, last year was more painful than the 0-16 team. After they were 0-5, 0-6, I really did not care anymore. I expected them to lose, and they did. But last year with the team sitting at 6-3 in a terrible division, and going 1-6 in their last 7... That was just a kick to the stomach.

They have no player leadership at all. That just adds salt to the wound.

shitty gm that hired a shitty coach who hired shitty coordinators who coached a bunch of average players that cant close games and fail under pressure at every turn. Wasn't a kick to the stomach....that's the type of lions team ive come to expect. Flynn and Mccown finishing over Stafford is an absolute joke lmao.....

If you consider it a choke job they didn't win 10-11, then they are a good team. They may have hurt your feelings but they are a good team.

Going with 6-2 with Rodgers might have helped Green Bay. Flynn gives the same point output as Rodgers did in 2013 over Flynn's entire GB career. McCown was better than Cutler. Bears got lucky Cutler got hurt.

4-2 division for Detroit with 2 losses without Calvin. This is Detroits division.

If you consider a team that went 7-9, 1-6 down the stretch, and blew their chances of winning the weakest division in the NFL good, then I don't know what to tell you. Last year, they were not a good team. They were horrible. They absolutely imploded. Losing two home games against two average teams when a playoff bid was on the line speaks to how shitty they were. There's absolutely 0 defending what happened last year. They were not a good football team, end of discussion.

Fk Calvin he's no saviour. He's just a fkn receiver.

Fact 1, other teams had more important injuries than us, GB one of those.

Fact 2, this team always underperforms.

Fact 3, we're not talented.

Fact 4, you're a dumbass.

Every team, except a few, have the talent to win 10-11 games. That's why there are so many teams that hover around 8-8. We have no more or no less talent than a majority of the teams in the NFL. The Lions couldn't sniff the talent level on SF, Seattle, Denver, NE, New Orleans. That's why those teams are good, and the Lions suck.

I think people who say we have a talented team get confused..we have some players who are talented but as a team not so much.

What team, except Jacksonville, Cleveland, Oakland, and Washington doesn't have talent? Shit, at 2-14, Houston has talent. Tired of hearing about all this amazing talent. Doesn't mean a damn thing if you can't make it work.

Except we came in 3rd...so its not our division. Its matt Flynns division...Flynn pwns stafford.
