My way too early yardage prediction thread

dang...predicted 4-5 wins prior to mayhews offeason then correctly predicted 7 wins prior to the season. LKP I bet you wish you could be right like the level headed realistic lions fans on here. Must suck to be wrong all the time.

You are not level headed. You are a clear pessimistic hater. You just got lucky they had 34 turnovers and injuries. You know nothing.

They played much better than a 7 win team. They played like a 10-11 win team. I was right not you.

Yes, we were all lucky that the Lions gagged and couldn't win one of the weakest NFC North's you will ever see. We were lucky that Stafford can't throw the ball if there's more than 10 MPH of wind. We were lucky that this franchise, which continues to be the worst in the NFL, showed us absolutely nothing other than they are allergic to the playoffs.

Believe it or not, we all want the Lions to succeed. If we didn't, we wouldn't waste 3 hours of a nice Sunday every week. But they continue to fail. And for every excuse you make for our average QB and team, every other squad in the NFL can justify their turnovers with the same stuff you contribute. Every quarterback, whether it is a dropped pass, great play by the D, whatever, deals with that stuff. It's not unique to Matthew Stafford.

Stafford threw it well. Backups dropped the ball against Pittsburgh. Ogletree, Riddick, Ross and Durham.

NFC North was tough and Lions were playing hot teams like Baltimore, Giants and Pittsburgh who finished the season extremely well. That was the competition no matter what the Bears and Packers were doing. Lions whipped the Bears twice and Packers. The only 2 division losses we didn't have Calvin or run support with no Waddle.

We're lucky this team is so talented and in 2014, we will enjoy that talent to the tune of 10-11 wins to make up for underachieving thanks to turnovers and injuries in 2013.

Green Bay- 8-7-1, played most of the year without Rodgers
Chicago- 8-8, couldn't be more average
Detroit- 7-9, sucked
Minnesota, 5-10-1, sucked more than Detroit

How is the NFC North tough again? If by tough, you mean a pathetic division that no one wanted to win then yeah, you are right.

Giants were real hot, lost the last 3 out of 4 before playing Detroit.
Baltimore I'll give you.
Pittsburgh was 3-2 before playing Deroit, wowww sizzling hot.

By the way, the concept of momentum in sports is total crap. Momentum exists maybe in a 5-10 minute window in the NBA, or a half in football. Each game is independent of each other. That is an awful justification of why the Lions lost to them. The Lions lost to Pittsburgh because Stafford forgot how to throw. They lost to Baltimore and the Giants because they can't handle the spotlight (And Stafford also had terrible games).

LKP, why do you fight so hard to defend the Lions? Are you a younger fan? Have you not had the apathy set in quite yet? Did you feel that Joey Harrington was getting bad luck/drops, etc?

Giants and Steelers finished strong after terrilbe 0-6 and 0-4 starts. They were tough teams in the second half of the season. Not mention teams that usually make the playoffs. Same as the Ravens. Giants finished 7-3 and Steelers finished 8-4. Super hot

Lions had injuries too. You putting sucked, is worthless. They had many injuires.

Stafforrd had 100 QB rating until his backup weapons started dropping the ball against pittsburgh. You know nothing of htis game.

giants and steelers were terrible....and we lost to 2 terrible teams. nice job Stafford....

I fight hard because I know more than you. And I know what happened better than all of you. I know who was on and off the field, who dropped what, and more about our opponents. I know the Lions are a very talented team and played better than their 7-9 record. And going into 2014, we should expect big things. 10-11 wins.

I know most of your are misinformed pessimistic haters who just happened to get the record right due to turnovers and injuries. The team is LOADED with talent, has the coaching and 10-11 wins should be the EXPECTATION.

You are terrible at assessing teams that finished 7-3 and 8-4 on the season.

So if you think they are so terrible though. Week 1 Lions 42 Giants 10 then.

so now we rate teams on how they finish not what they do for the entire year? I guess the Lions are the worst team in the NFL since they finished 1-6

Lions outplayed most of those teams. And had more injury issues. They are still the better team than a hot Steelers or Giants team.

I feel bad for all of you. I'm trying to help inform you. But you will remain pessimistic haters. And I'll watch the Lions win 10-11 games and be proven right.

Except for the last 8 games, lol. It's hard not to be a pessimist with your optimist fanboy ass on here. They did not play like a 10-11 win team, NFC north backup quarterbacks played better than Stafford did down the stretch.

There it is... based on his logic. Also proves he doesn't necessarily know more than other posters but rather basks in the debate for the sake of it. I listen to the ex professionals on sirrus and they dog the Lions as well. The fact is, Lions are not a good team but an average one.

Actually below average, they did just pick 10.
