My way too early yardage prediction thread

What about 13 tds and 13 ints, and his Tebow esque completion percentage through the final 8 games? Is that good? Twist that into an excuse, you fucking douche. Stafford is great at not getting this team to the next level. That is all he's proven thus far in his career

No other team had to play with the barometric pressure, solar winds, Pluto aligned with Jupiter ....like we had to.

Stafford made plays. Calvin made plays. His other weapons let him down. Run game was inconsistent. Injuries mounted down the stretch. It wasn't staffords fault if you people actually paid attention, game by game, play by play.

Now we have Tate and ebron. Problem solved

If you think Tate and Ebron are the last two pieces to the puzzle, you need to go back and look at the tape. Maybe when the secondary can be slightly better than swiss cheese, the team will compete.

Experienced Slay, Mathis, healthy Quin and Ihedigbo I am fine with that secondary in this new aggressive man scheme

All Lions fans do this every year. Last year Reggie Bush was the last piece of the puzzle. If you ask LKP run game inconsistencies cost us the playoffs so there you go.

Tates too short, Stafford will miss him way too often. I question any receiver the Lions sign under that's 6'5 or has under a 40" vert.

Slay has played one year. Stop saying experienced Slay.

Mathis hasn't had more than 1 INT since 2009. He did absolutely nothing for the Lions last season. Dude is 33.

Glover Quin is probably the best player in the secondary, which is pretty sad. He's nothing special, adequate for his position.

James Ihedigbo has 3 INT's in his career. He's played like 8 years. He is not good.

The secondary sucks. Stop trying to spin it. It's bad. The Lions continue to use super glue and try to patch it together when it needs a total overhaul. AKA, spending 1st and 2nd round picks on the occasional secondary position.

Don't ask for a source because I don't remember where I saw it, but Glover rated as one of the best safeties in the league.

Yeah I'm not sure where that came from. He's not one of the best in the league. He's good, I'm willing to concede "adequate" for that. He's the best that the Lions have. He'll do the job. But they need more than him back there.

Top 75... Ihedigbo #69, Quin #30,

Corners top 100... Houston #90 lol, Slay #69, Mathis #25.

There you have it. Pretty lame. I know Houston is gone but it was meant as a dig on LKP who thought he was gr e at.

The bottom line is that the secondary is bad, and having a new "aggressive man scheme" doesn't make me feel better. In fact, that probably scares me more, knowing that the Lions corner backs have been getting burned for as long as they have fielded a team.

Well, they are not smart enough to play zone. ..

I think Mathis is going to take Houstons role(whipping boy of the nfl) this year.

Reggie Bush did well. 4.5 YPC per carry but he missed 2.5 games too. He was the missing piece but then other pieces got hurt and the run game was bad for 5 losses. This wasn't all Reggie either, some missing Calvin, some Jason Fox/Hilliard, some Reggie hurt. Burleson and Broyles and Calvin got hurt. Pettigrew regressed a bit. And Waddle. We haven't had a full complete puzzle play together very much due to injury.

We do now though.

Slay played great his final 2 games of the season. Mathis played well all season. Quin played great. Ihedigbo will help run support and blitz. Ihedigbo had 5 bad coverage games out of 16 last year. The new scheme should work and they have the talented personnel to pull it off.

New scheme should work based on... what exactly?

You can sugar coat it all you want. The secondary is bad. It's not an opinion. It's a fact. The stats back that all up. And they didn't do anything to get better.

And they aren't talented. I will give you average at best. It's filled with a bunch of guys who are either over the hill, or haven't proven a thing.
