NFC Playoff Thread

Because you said so, yeah. I'm assuming you're young and can't fathom what's it's been like for this organization. Yeah after year, bad after bad, no playoff win after no playoff win.

I've seen plenty of losing. This team is much better than any of the those Lions teams.

I forgot to mention that Carolina and NO was picked as the flex game this Sunday

Seattle can clinch both the NFC West and a first-round bye with a win over SF this weekend

30 by the way. This team has nothing to do with the 90s Lions, Millen Lions or even the 2012 Lions. 2013 is all on its own with different circumstances and new players/change in play of other players.

This Lions team can win multiple playoff games if they fix the turnover issue (4 bad games out of 12).

Last year you said we would have been better if not for drop passes and fumbles. Yet here we are, same problems. But last year you said we couldn't be unlucky again..maybe we're just bad in those areas and turnovers and drops are gonna happen?

First 7 games this year +5 turnover differential. This year we have the healthy talent to overcome these turnovers (finsihing with TDs). Bush and Stafford playing better see 2-2 in the bad turnover games. Turnover problem is 16 in 4 games, still 2-2 in those games. Bush and Stafford turn it over, but they are doing way more good than bad to overcome it.

Plus less turnovers going diretly for TDS. 6 last year plus 4 special teams allowed to 0 by the Loins. -10 last year, -1 this year.

The problem was fixed until Week 11. Need to get back on track.

More turnovers have been forced. 17 in 12 compared to 17 in 16 to help overcome this as well.

that stink of Millen is barely holding on juuuuuust a liiiiitle bit though. its almost gone but its hanging on by a thread. Mayhew/Schwartz have done wonders to this team. 0-16 is hard to wash off and its almost gone .... just a few more tweaks.

Giants and Rams are out

Philadelphia takes over the top spot in the NFC East temporarily (Dallas plays tonight)

Two big NFC games left this week
New Orleans-Carolina
Dallas-Chicago

IF the Lions make the playoffs it will be a miracle if they get out of the first round. It might be better if they lose the next 3 games so they can fire the coaching staff.

Lions had the division handed to them on a silver platter this year, just making the playoffs by the skin of their teeth and losing in R1 should still result in the coaches being fired. This team should have over 10 wins instead of hoping they might still get 10.

The schedule is still 100% in their favor to win it, with all 3 remaining games in domes, two at home even. The problem is this team does not have that killer instinct or they would have already won the division. They are soft, complacent, and act like they don't need to work hard to win the division, probably because they think with Cutler and Rodgers being out means they can coast to the finish line.

Carolina remains the top WC with their head-to-head advantage over SF

On a side note: Lol, Indy is the first team to clinch their division at 8-5

As much as I'd love to see the lions in the playoffs there is a part of me that hopes they don't make it. Reason being that I know if they make it the old man will give them a pat on the back and won't change a damn thing and I'm ready for a shake up on this coaching staff.

We could finish 7-9 and there's still a good chance the "old man" will give them a pat on the back. Who fires the coach, Ford or the GM?

If the GM doesn't fire the coach the GM should be fired!

They started together though so I'm thinking Mayhew has a special place for Gym Shorts. I'm not going to get into whether Mayhew has done well or not, too many discussions on that already but I think you start from scratch - GM down gets canned.
