NFC Wildcard Race

Lions win out and finish 10-7 do they make the playoffs .

Yes or No.

I can see at least 2 more losses for each of NYG, WAS, SEA, so probably.

My biggest worry is whether Philly or Dallas will have anything to play for in week 18.

Agree. Think at this point they keep Goff

How about Goff plays all the home games since he is good at home and the rookie plays all the road games.

Goff is 10th in QB rating, 10th in YPA, 10th in TDs, middle of the pack in picks. Even with many injuries to weapons and them trading Hock. He will be back

I think they keep him around just for some continuity on offense. Who knows though, maybe Ben Johnson leaves and lobbies to take Goff with him.

SEA would be 10-7 and have the tiebreaker
Giants losing 2 would be 10-6-1 so really we need them 2-3 at best
Washington losing 2 would be 9-7-1 (Lions over them)

So we would be out unless Giants go 2-3. Giants and Washington play each other again too so one of them is winning that game (well maybe). I don't know what two ties would mean

But I don't think the Lions will win out. They have the potential too for sure now but I think they'll stumble in a game. Probably something stupid like the Panthers

I hope we get Ben Johnson and Glenn for one more season. We need both. No more Anthony Lynn type offenses. I guess Campbell did call plays last year but he had heavy Ben Johnson influence

Why not be proactive ? The Lions management should up both Ben and Glenn?s contact to try and keep them a few years.

I don't see the Giants getting 3 wins the rest of the way. They have Philly x2, Washington and Minnesota. They won't win 2 of those games. They finish 9-6-1

Dallas should end up with 10+ wins.

Seattle should get to 9 wins, maybe 10. We lose the tiebreaker with Seattle.

That leaves Washington. Currently 7-5-1. They play NYG, @ 49ers, Browns and Cowboys. I think they beat NYG and the Browns. Lose to 49ers. It all comes down to if Dallas plays for the win in week 18.

So the Lions have to winout to get to 10 win together in the playoffs. Can they? Yes.Will they? Maybe. We can't worry about anyone else. It is 10 wins or no playoffs.

Beat the Vikings. So frustrating didn't beat them in Week 3. We had them

Giants lose at home to Philly
Seattle upset loss to Carolina in Seattle this week (unlikely)
Washington on a bye

And on flip side Raiders beat the Rams on Thursday night

10 wins would be over achieving for this team. Job well done by the coaches if they can get there. That said every game left on the schedule is winnable. 7 wins sounded right on paper at the start of the season. Winning is what's needed for the culture at this point.... they are playing hard and playing for each other every week.

I can't believe that the Lions are a 1.5 point favorite this week. I took MN and the points. Too much value there.

Go Vikings!

As a lifelong Lions fan, I completely understand that logic.

But this team is different. Different culture, different attitude, different feel.

With all due respect, I hope you lose your ass on that bet.

Kind of think Ben Johnson would be scooped up though if that happened too. O Connell, Staley, Mike McDaniel are all young coaches with little coordinating experience that got head coaching jobs. We need Ben for 2023

Top 6 offense with Jared Goff and WR injuries most of the year and trading Hock. Would be something

If we were 7th seed too, probably go to Minnesota in the WC game. Now that would be revenge

5 win team vs a 9 win team?... that makes zero sense lol. They had that big loss vs Dal. But they also had that big win vs Buf.

We lost bad to Dal and lost to buf.

Ya I think we can win.... but the line makes no sense.

The most optimistic projection by any specnostigator that I can find of the Lions making the playoffs is 8%.

Sounds about right since either need 1-4 (NYG or SEA or both and not Was) or 1-3 (Wash) finishes from 2 of 3 teams or Lions win out

As of this moment. One game, series, play at a time.

Oh, hey, thanks for explaining that, I was wondering about that.

I thought that would more likely than not be the case, because you know, if it was as of any other point in time, it wouldn?t make a whole lot of sense, but still, I wasn?t sure.

Call me optimistic.

Hey another way the lions can get in is if Minnesota losses out! Lions win out and no teams
Finish 10-7. Lions would have better division record and better conference record lol !
We probably will need them to beat the Giants unless they lose to the colts.

Minnesota last five games.
