Defense is absolute shit. The only reason I don't see this season going anywhere. Average team if Stafford plays lights out the rest of the season, that's how pathetic this defense is.

It's one thing to have talent (even though this defense really doesn't). It's another thing to actually put it on the field. Whenever you hear the media or announcers constantly talk about how talented someone is, that's code speak for, "He's good but he can't play the game well."

When people talk about Brady, is the discussion about how "talented" he is? No, it's about how he wins.

Whitehead, lawson, diggs, ansah, taylor can all play better. Robinson can improve with experience. Slay and Quin are good players. Ngata and levy can come back and be good players. Its probable

Winning = playoff success... At least for any legitimate organization. Thankfully the Lions are no longer consistent bottom feeders, but that's all I can say about them for now. Stafford may be the difference between top 5 pick and competitiveness, but who or what will make the difference between competing and contending? Quinn still has a lot of work to do, on both the roster and coaching staff.

Grandy quite honestly, all of this is lip service until they win a playoff game. They can have my passion again when they prove they are a real organization.

Brady is a great QB.....probably one of the best ever.....but he's played on what is perhaps the best run organization with the best coach in history. They win with and without him. He adds to the greatness, no doubt, but he wouldn't have 4 titles if he were drafted by the Lions or even an average team like the Eagles or Bengals.

Thru 6 games weve seen alot of what the Lions are on defense:

Cant get to the QB
Cant cover a TE worth a lick
Lawson and Diggs are absolute liabilities in coverage, dont look for the ball, and grab the hell out of people
Opponents rush for nearly 5 ypc
We dont force INTs....the opposing qb has to make a poor decision for us to get a TO.
We dont bring consistent pressure.

Its a clusterfuck to watch. If you dont bring pressure then you should have plenty of guys to cover. The lions some fucking how can drop everyone into coverage and STILL have wide open receivers running down field lmao. Its a fucking miracle.

Theres no sign of talent on this team defensively. Ansah back healthy and Slay....thats it. End of story. There is no "when levy is back healthy"...forget it.

Diggs and lawson and whitehead proved in 2015 they can play better than this. Ansah,taylor,ngata,hyder should bring a decent pass rush. Levy for sure helps the lb coverage. Less van noy and armbrister just by him being there. He is still talented and is more mentally aware

Slay and quin are good. Wilson is solid

Pass rush will solve alot. The talent for pass rush is there

Defense can get much better. These 6 games are not set in stone how we will always play

Could. 7-3 or 8-2 pretty probable. I like the talent and the schedule and how our offense and special teams is performing. Pass rush needed for the next 10 plus

But if we continued down that path of horrible play (we lost to 2 of the worst teams in the league at that point) and finished with let's just say a 4 win season, then i wpuld have been fine with blowing it all up and starting over. You have rookie 4th rd draft picks playing at just as high a level as stafford. Stafford is not the guy to elevate your entire team. He doesn't cover up a bad defense. He doesn't outplay a bad oline. He can't make up for a horrid run game. We've seen all those seasons play out already. ..he can't over come it. You can win with him sure. But everything around him needs to be good. At that point a rookie making 400k can do the same in this day and age. He leads us to 4 wins this year. ...i bet leadership would have had a looooong conversation about whether or not to keep him. Lucky for him we finish above that.
