OFFICIAL: Draft Day (Day One-Three)

A lot of people complaining about a guy they probably never seen play.

I know this isn't the draft steal of Boss Bailey..but lets give these guys at least a year. Also talking about Bentley being undersized than saying something about wanting Jenkins is comical.

I've got zero problem with Bentley...I am scratching my head over Broyles. And not in regard to his talent, but why we picked him...

I went over to the espn board to see what was poppin. I left after reading 3-4 posts. They're going apeshit over there. That place has really gone to hell.

Again, i like broyles, but to sum up my thoughts on the second round....

Shouldn't we want Stafford to have to throw the ball LESS? We drafted a RT/LT in the first round to protect him and then draft a WR for him to throw to. Are we trying to get him throwing more than he already is? Is that why we get protection and a 4th string receiver in the second? I don't know, but if he's any good and healthy, Nate better become the real black wes welker if he wants to stick around.

exactly my thoughts, elrod. i'm sure most lions fans will feel the same way.

I think the Broyles thing is completely about next year and beyond. Sure they want him to have a nice year this year but I really think they're planning on CJ/Titus on the outside with Broyles working the middle after they cut Burleson loose next off season.

Just worried about Bentleys size. I hate seeung small corners get beat when they have good position but just arent big enough. Seems to happen a lot.

5'10 is the average size of an nfl corner. His vertical isn't as bad as people make it sound it's 31 inches lol If he can run with people he'll be an improvement. His hands don't look too bad, that's an improvement.

broyles should be ready for TC, right? He participated in his pro day, so that should mean the knee is nearly healed?

Exactly...Revis is only an inch taller...and no I'm not saying Bentley is the next Revis just saying that's all...

the more I think about it, Diggler, the more I can get behind it because Boykins probably only has the ceiling of a below average #2/above average nickle and special teams guy because hes soo small.

I think Bentley at least has the chance to be a legit #2. The vert thing is meh because he bulked up for the combine because he didn't want to appear too light. sure hes not real physical in the run game but in the wide nine, with our offense, I want to put points on the board, get to the QB with an aggressive pass rush and force teams to throw.

when the R2 and R3 picks are labelled as "good later round picks", one has a right to question the selections made by the lions IMO.

could have gotten a better talent at CB in R2 and still gotten Broyles in R3. Heck, probably could have gotten Konz in R2, Broyles in R3 and then Bentley in R4 based on all of the analysis from the "experts" indicating both those picks were taken at least one round earlier than projected.

isn't that the definition of reaching? i don't care what the lions board looks like for BPA...they needed to consider more strongly the view other teams have of these guys to realize they could have gotten them later.

as for going with a 4th WR, i'm guessing they plan to run 4 WR / 1 TE or 5 WR sets frequently considering their RB situation. plus he can replace logan and stovall bumps down to #5 WR which is not unreasonable for him, especially since he is a solid ST guy.

like others have said, no issue with the players they have, just the slot in which they got picked.

does anyone have a link to the full press conferences for today and yesterday? Usually dlions.com has them, but they're only short clips this year.
