Other Games - NCAA Basketball version

Even former players are against it now. It used to be a reward for players and families to go to Hawaii and celebrate. Now it's in ghett-Orlando, squeezed in before the SuperBowl and fielding 3rd & 4th options based on the SB teams, injuries and ego.

Get rid of it. Make it a flag football game or talent showcase but skip the game itself.

awful ...heard just a minute or two while in the car yesterday before changing channel to Sirius GD channel.

My buddy, his wife, my wife, and I watched bowling over the Pro Bowl yesterday after the Purdue game. We made the right choice. Just seeing this guy is more entertaining than anything in the Pro Bowl.

Well, there were some games yesterday (1/27/19)

As talked about, #6 MSU lost at Purdue, 73-63

#18 Villanova beat Seton Hall, 80-52

#19 Iowa lost at Minnesota, 92-87. Of course, they will probably be unranked today instead of 19 after losing twice.

WE can't overlook the OSU game, of course, but that @Iowa game (which is the next game) looks very important right now. Michigan needs to win that one to keep pace.

Iowa could help our offense get back in stride. They believe that defense is optional, so it could be a good confidence builder.

Some maybe a little young to remember, but in the late 70s early 80s there a was a show called Bowling For Dollars. It was on before Dance Fever on Sundays after football. I think it was on the same channel as Dance Fever if my memory serves me. That was when bowling was in its heyday.

I definitely remember bowling being way more popular in the 80's.

as a kid I remember my mom enrolled me in a bowling league because she thought it was important to learn to bowl, and other family members - who wouldn't be caught dead in a bowling alley today - being in actual bowling leagues. and it was cool to have your bday party at a bowling alley.

it's kinda crazy, but it's actually hard to fine a place to bowl around here now. so many alleys closed, there's pent up demand, and they're all packed on Friday/Saturday night... mostly with teenagers too young for bars though.

My wife and I were in a league with two of my buddies a few years ago. Our team was Bowl Strikes-n-Harmony. Logo on the shirt was a skull with two bowling pins crossed.

The league made Tuesdays awesome. It was free and they always had good deals on beer and wine. We actually all got petty damn good from playing so much. Made it challenging when we played teams with high handicaps, so every week was good competition. Had to quit when we moved too far from the alley. Nothing around us now that has a good league. Kind of sucks bc I miss it.

I was in a bowling league in Jr High (not much else to do on frigid Saturday mornings in Traverse City) on a team called the Pinheads. We finished 1st, 2nd & 1st the three years I was on the team and I think I averaged about 145. Now my son and I have gone a few times to Monaco Lanes here in Denver where our dad would take us as young kids. The lanes haven't changed much and my wife is grossed out by bowling balls after reading some article on what ...matter is most commonly found in the finger holes!

And every year for the past many, my boss does a bowling night for our Holiday Party at one of these places where they're showing videos and blaring music ....I take shit from these Wall Street types because I kick their asses every year. Nobody will even bet me anymore! :lmao::lmao:

The alley that hosted our league was called Pinheads.

Holy crap, your post will make me forever put Lysol wipes in the holes before my daughter and I bowl.

I always thought my wife was a bit overboard about it but the other Sunday my son and I went for a while and he - suddenly - got pretty sick. We barely made it home before he puked in the driveway and was sick for the next couple days.

Lysol wipes for sure!! lol

Sorry to interrupt the bowling and the puking and the Lysol with more NCAA basketball games updates.

Eight ranked teams play on the road today; looks to me like most if not all are in conference.

January 29, 2019 NCAA Division 1 basketball schedule.

eh, HEY! the team we like is playing today.

And they're playing the team we hate! And because I'm still fighting a bad head cold, and every step I take makes the mucus in my sinuses painfully slosh around, I don't have to feel guilty about watching, instead of going to the gym.

I'm really glad I never get sick. All of this puking and head cold stuff sounds like it really sucks.

Well, there are already a number of Michigan basketball threads and I expect theWolverines24 will start his usual game thread just before the games.

This thread was started about other games played by other teams.

Right now what other ranked teams do and don?t do could potentially have an impact on Michigan?s seeding for the NCAA tournament.
