Other Games - NCAA Basketball version

Purdue going to pull this one out. Impressive comeback by State falls short. I didnt agree with Izzo fouling early down the stretch. Purdue was horrible from the field and State kept putting Eastern (50% FT)at the line. I know he was playing the percentages, but I thought they could have gotten a couple more easy buckets, that Purdue was giving, because they had some clock to burn waiting for Purdue to miss. All tied now at the top in the Big10.

Six of one and a half a dozen of the other. The fouls came right at the beginning of the Purdue possessions. If State doesn?t foul there, Purdue burns clock on each possession, obviously with a chance to score at the end of their possessions.

Which one of our trolls was talking about how bad Purdue is this year? Or was it just, "not good?"

Izzo outsmarted himself.

Not really all tied atop the big 10. Michigan has to beat OSU in AA and then there will be a tie.

I think he did. They were down 7 and it felt like they were controlling the game. There was plenty of time to get it down to at least 3 or 4 and then start fouling.

My bad, I thought we played the same amount of conference games.

Yep. That was my feelings on the situation, as well. MSU was on a roll and in control of the game despite still being down 4-6 points. Then they changed everything they were doing, so they could foul Eastern, who promptly hit all of his free throws. I guess if he had missed some and MSU had won, then they'd be talking about how smart Izzo is, but it didn't work. At 6 points down with 3 minutes to go, it's a game, just play it out.

Tough call on the strategy there with the fouling. On the first one Eastern clanked it off the back rim and it hit every other part of the rim and went in on a 1 and 1. Then he found a rhythm after that.

The foul call on the 3 by Edwards before that when the lead was 4 was really what kind of stopped the momentum. Saw a little bit of contact there with McQuaid with his arm up but somewhat in Edward's space. A bit soft but a savvy move by Edwards. They had Purdue rattled at that point, but I figured it unlikely MSU would be able to make it all the way back.

NFL Pro Bowl is fucking terrible. Total rain out(not in Hawaii) and the guys have been playing 2 hand touch the whole game. Just take off the pads and play flag football for crying out loud or cancel it all together.

I can honestly say in my entire life I have watched at the most 5 minutes of the Pro Bowl combined. I think it?s worse than the NBA one even.

are you just realizing this for the first time?

Some people still watch it.

That?s why they still have it.

When it stops turning a buck, hasta la vista.

I used to watch it all the time. Guys were proud to be there and they played like they wanted to win. Pride was involved. Havent watched for a couple years. Never saw something this bad, ever.

Pro Bowl used to be great back in the 70's and 80's. It was 2 weeks after the Super Bowl. Now a lot of the players aren't even all-pro as the 2 best teams are still playing. I haven't watched it in years.

It seems like these days, everyone plays it cautious to avoid an injury, which, unless you're a psychopath (or an NFL owner) can you really blame them? The game means absolutely nothing. it's a post-season exhibition.

Maybe it was always that way, and I/we just didn't notice it as much? or maybe contracts and ownership have gotten more aggressive toward players?

I don't know.

when I think about it, it's gotta be coming up on at least 20 years since I watched this game or cared who won... maybe you guys are just kinda dumb for taking so long to realize it? >:D
