Other Games - NCAA Basketball version

Spartans and of the Hawkeyes Going at it in Iowa city, or whatever the University of Iowa is in.

Anyway, after the Hawkeyes playing tough and matching the Spartans on the Hawkeyes own court for about a half a game and change, Michigan State steps up and imposes its dominance for the rest of the game.

I would say our rivals are playing the best basketball of any team in the country right now.

When he plays, it's pretty obvious he's not ready. It's not just the defensive end either. The offense bogs down when he's in the game. Davis at least knows the right places to be and go in our sets.

This is what is frustrating. Only one of the 4 freshmen recruited is even getting significant minutes and is a home run (Iggy). We are getting hardly any minutes from Johns jr (70)
, De Julius (107), and Castleton (rank 129). Jb has to have a master plan. We know De Julius can Shoot. I’d like to see it. Heck I’d like to see all four of them. The starters are getting wore out. Lack of depth is becoming a issue. Getting back to the defense. A lot of us on here have played basketball in high school. Man to man defense is freaking hard to play. Super hard at the level Michigan is playing . Sprinkling in a zone her or there would be nice to see. I’d love to see some changing defenses here and there. Our guys are not deep.

1/3/1. Only a few times if any.
2/3.
Traps.
Ect,etc, ect.

Iowa's defense sucks so I'm surprised they even hung around for one half. Still ended the way I expected with MSU notching a comfy double-digit win.

I knew Castleton wouldn't provide anything his freshman year. He could blow away in a strong wind. Needs to add a ton of weight/strength.

Nunez I expected redshirt as well.

The others, I thought would all get PT. I knew Iggy would get the most, but I really thought Johns and DeJulius would contribute. The guys they have in front of them are less talented, so I just assumed they'd take more and more minutes from Davis and Brooks as the season went along. Unfortunately, not everything works out the way we hope. Maybe it will click for one of them, DeJulius please, soon and we'll see them on the floor more often.

In the last 11 games, Brooks is averaging 14.8 MPG, 2.1 PPG, and 1.36 APG. That is pretty terrible production for getting 15 mins per game.

For sure I agree. I just rewatched the his game verses Foster Loyer, and they were down big time in a high school game and came back and won. Both players played great. Maybe it is the fact that he is not very big. I just don’t know. I though bought him and Johns jr would see a lot of time this year.

I also do not see much defense by either Foster or De Julius who had 42 in the twenty point comeback. Foster gets the last laugh though by winning the state title. It has to be his defense and he has not learned the offense enough to be trusted I guess.

I thought that Nebraska would blow their doors off being @ home, but OSU showed up to play. Game still not over, but OSU in control(up 10) with just under 4 min left.

OSU wins 70-59

Purdue is currently taking Sparty to the woodshed. Not surprisingly, I am enjoying this immensely.

Think today the schedule is catching up with us. Have already had OSU, Nebraska, and Iowa on the road. 6 of the first 10 on the road, the only Big Ten team today that will have played as many as 10 conference games (though Iowa also plays their 10th later today). Games Monday, Thursday, and today over the past 7 days, 2 of them tough road games and again down 2 rotation players. Team doesn't look like it has much in the tank. But thankfully things ease up a bit after this.

Caught the last 10 or so minutes of the first half.

I’m going to follow the second half on the game cast while I binge watch Sex Education on Netflix.

Purdue is blowing it, only up 6 now after being up 23. 6:25 left and they cant make a shot to save their life or a free throw.

I thought State was kinda dumb to start intentionally fouling with 2:40 left.

Especially in hindsight, since Purdue hit every FT, pushing their lead back to double digits, LOL.
