Other Games - NCAA Basketball version

yes, some teams actually try to play defense. But for the most part, the college game is just like the NBA. I was watching the Duke/Cuse game yesterday. The two teams combined to shoot 52 threes and only made 27%.

The college game is just like the NBA except the players aren't as good and the 3 point line is closer.

I disagree. I can watch almost any college game and enjoy it. I hate watching the NBA. You're stating that like it is a fact, when it is your opinion. You're entitled to your opinion, I just disagree with it.

yes, both of us are just stating our opinions. I think both the NBA and college B-ball are mostly unwatchable.

so yesterday, 2/24/19, there was some action

#3UVA beat 18 Louisville 64-52

#5 Tennessee lost at #13 LSU 82-80 in OT

#15 Purdue squeaks by another one at Nebraska, 75-72

unranked TCU beat #19 Iowa State, 75-72

Ohio State lost at 24 Maryland, 72-62

#8 UNC beat #16 FSU, 77-59

#1 Duke won at Syracuse, 75-65

#12 Kansas lost at Texas Tech, 91-62.

22 Wisconsin won at Northwestern, 69-64

Soon to be new #1 in the nation, Gonzaga, won by 40 against BYU. BYU has had good teams in the past. They are not good this year.

(edit: PSU won at Illinois, 83-76. They seem to have won a couple of games after beating Michigan)

About the only problem I have with college ball is the refs. Certain refs can make a game unbearable.

When I have watched NBA games, I hardly notice the refs.

That crew that called the game at MN seemed to do a really good job until there was like 8 minutes left in the game. Then they changed the way they were calling things. They really need to be more consistent. I see this a lot. Refs will call a first half tight, then the 2nd half loose OR they will tighten things up in the last 8 minutes. It's very hard for college players to adjust to that sort of thing.

The NBA refs are on the exact opposite side of the line when it comes to making calls. NBA refs basically let everything go. I guess it is what you prefer as a fan. Do you want lots of calls, or do you want to allow everything?

Xavier just took a 14 point lead at home vs Villanova. Villanova had been leading by a small margin before that. 4 and a half minutes to go.

I'll take consistency first, then I'd say I would error on the side of letting them play to let there be some flow to the game. Nothing worse than watching a free throw shooting contest w/ both teams in the bonus before the 10 minute mark.

This just in. After hard fought loss on the road without Zion, Duke has reclaimed the #1 spot in the rankings.

Watching Indiana & Wisconsin and have come to the conclusion way too many replays. Last 5 minutes taking forever.

Completely agree. The flow is already bad with all the timeouts, now you add replay into it and it just about removes any semblance of drama.

And if I have to watch officials go to the monitor one more time for a normal basketball play that they now consider a possible "hook and hold", I'm going to throw something at my TV.

Here you go... my wife got these as stocking stuffers for the kids, no way they could do any damage to your TV

Is this years Big Ten Tournament wide open? Look the top four with the byes have the best shot we all know that but it would not surprise me if some bottom big ten team made the btt Finals

PSU, Illinois, and Rutgers are probably the 3 best bad teams in the country.
