Other Games - NCAA Basketball version

VCU just got bounced out of their tourney by Rhode Island. That will shrink the bubble if VCU gets an at-large.

Wow. I stepped out a few minutes to do some business, came back and the Spartans have blown out to a 20+ point lead.

Yikes!

sounds like it was all due to poor officiating but never fear, the refs woke up and the game got back to single digits.

So for the last 2 years, I've thought that Tillman was a better player than Ward. Now it's been pretty much proven. All last season, I wondered, why isn't Tillman playing more? Then earlier this year, I thought the same thing. Was Izzo worried that Tillman would excel and then do well and then go pro? This has happened with other players in MSU's past. Izzo keeps them on the bench for some reason, then when they finally get their chance, they shine and we're all wondering why he did it OR a guy like Davis a few years back says, screw it, and goes pro anyway.

Tillman has come along but I wouldn't say it's been proven he's better than Ward. They bring different skill sets w/ Tillman being a bit more athletic and a little better on the defensive end but Ward adds more offensively. Since he's been injured, the offense no longer goes through the post and as a result, Winston's not getting the looks he had been. Ward is definitely the better post player and he runs the floor really well for a guy his size and this year has been much better at passing out of double teams.

With Tillman, you get more athleticism and while he's not the featured player on offense, he fits in well and adds some value (unlike say freshman through junior year Kenny Goins).

I think Tillman may be further along as a sophomore than Ward was, but I don't agree he's proven he's better than Ward now.

UF bonks LSU out of the SEC tournament.

maybe that gets us back to a 2, unless we crap out against Iowa.
