Preseason Game 2: Lions @ Raiders

I guess you can't do goal post dunks anymore..didn't realize that until now. I guess Graham got chewed out by Payton.

Who the fuck is this McGloin fucker and why is he so god damned cocky?

Yuck... Come on D... blitz them.... better yet where was the blitz...

Alright, I'm out of here before I have to start reading about true extra points, fake penalties, and the dirt on the football field. Good night fellas.

Oh well. First team offense looked ridiculous tonight, so that's good. First team D did well, too. I'm happy. No major injuries! 2 weeks left.

Couldn't watch the game, but a few things from the boxscore...

Stafford had a day....
Tate and Ebron are playmakers? Say it aint so!! Hi, Hughes!!
Broyles and Durham are making noise to be that #3
Orlovsky seperated himself a little more from Moore as the #2
Dig had a nice day on D
The rest of the D seemed quiet. On paper anyways.

Did i miss anything? Stats don't tell the whole story, even though half the board believes that to be true. Curious on how Webster looked. Saw his name a few times on this thread. Thanks.

Stafford had a very good game, but his 2nd TD was an absolute bail out by your boy Durham. It was a horrible throw.

There's a pretty sizable difference between 9/10 2 tds, vs 8/10 1 TD/1 INT. We on this board called it a "true INT."

Ebron had a nice catch in blown coverage. Wide open, guess the D coordinator took the name brand double team off him that play. Then proceeded to do not much of anything despite being out there the whole game. Not trying to knock him but let's not get ahead of ourselves calling him a playmaker just yet, unless you go by the literal definition of playmaker because yes he did make one play. Tate on the other hand, well, let's just say if you play fantasy football you want him on your team.

Broyles and Durham did look good. Broyles especially looked like he had some serious burst I want that guy on the field with the ones just to see if he's all the way back. Durham took the TD away from the defender.

Deebo had a nice pick on a deflection where Mathis made the best part of the play with an assist from James Jones hands. The secondary is shaky as an outhouse though. The run defense surprisingly sucked too and the best drive for the Raiders was literally ran down the Lions throat. Fairley looks like Refrigerator Perry, not during his playing days but during his celebrity boxing days.

Webster flashes some serious pass rush talent at times but is raw as ground hamburger and can get absolutely locked down at others. He needs to get stronger and more consistent but right now you can think SLH or Willie Young but his ceiling may be higher.

The backups all suck from Dan O on down. Concentrated injuries lead to concentrated orange juice,

I am very concerned with the secondary scheme so far. If this is something similar to what the team will be using in the regular season, teams will be able to dink and dunk their way down the field at will. The coverage is WAY too loose.

Same as last season. I figured with new guys (DC) we'd bump and run a little or man on man. But I don't think we have the talent to cover man on man.. I think it's going to try and be a bend but don't break defense. Hoping the QB eventually makes a mistake.

add to it the fact he double caught it and almost dropped it. wasn't a true reception.

SO they do nothing in the first game and its "preseason so it doesn't count, ya moron". but they catch one ball in preseason game 2 and its all exclamation points and trying to beat your chest? lmao....youre ridiculous.

Against the Raiders nonetheless who might be picking one next season.
