Preseason Game 2: Lions @ Raiders

SO they do nothing in the first game and its "preseason so it doesn't count, ya moron". but they catch one ball in preseason game 2 and its all exclamation points and trying to beat your chest? lmao....youre ridiculous.

He went double exclamation points to represent all the coverage they'll be pulling off Calvin. Tony is the Herman Melville of posters right down to the salty seadog language.

Beat my chest??? Dummy, i did exctly what you did. Sound familiar? And it wasn't just one catch. Tate caught a few passes and so did Ebron. Ebron actually averaged 18 yds a catch and Tate caught a TD pass. Something you geniuses laughed at lol. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

And you'd be all over these guys if they didn't do something.

H. Melville wrote Bartleby. His best work, that's right his best work. That alone makes him awesome.

Just giving Hughes a taste of his own medicine. lol.

The biggest thing is they looked sharp without Calvin on the field. Last year the O took a shit every time CJ sat. Can't wait to see the offense once Calvin is out there.

The offense has looked sharp. The defense, especially the secondary is going to be ugly. Teams have been able to get 5-10 yards a pop with this loose coverage.

Going to be sick. I hope CJ doesn't play a snap the next 2 games. Unleash the beast.....maybe that's the plan? Can't fn wait.

I get it but Ebron didn't exactly break out last night. He had 1 catch versus the 1s and 1 catch versus the 2s. Jordan Matthews went 9 for 9 for 104 against the Pats 2s. I'm not expecting that from Ebron but if he did that I might break out the triple exclamation point.

I know he didn't break out...lol. But expect long receptions from the kid. Something our TES in the past were incapable of.

And if you're into FF, Matthews from the Eagles is a nice addition because of Maclin's injury bug lingering always.

Did Slay even play yesterday? I don't remember his name being called once.

Mathis made a nice play to force a ball into the air for an INT, but most of the time he was out of place, playing really far off his man, and got twisted around several times.

Definitely worth a late flyer.

I really liked what I saw last night on offense. Stafford looked sharp and the offense was moving with ease. The D needs work but at least we are seeing them try new things. I think Van Noy will be a beast once he understands the NFL game. The only way we lost last night is because the Raiders used 1's and 2's late in the 4th while we used mostly players that will be delivering us pizza before the coin flip.

Honestly I didn't learn very much from this game. Yes the first team offense looked great. They are supposed to look great, so while it's nice to see it doesn't make me suddenly more pumped up about the team. People get mesmerized by great offenses, until they realize that great defenses will shut down anybody (ask the Broncos vs. the Seahawks). The questions about this team are not so much on the offensive side as they are on the defensive side. I still have lots of doubt about how effective they can be. Can they stop finding ways to beat themselves, as has been the Lions M.O. for years?

That's not to mention that Stafford needs to show consistency through an entire season. Yeah he had a great 1st quarter, but it was in the second halves of games that he fell apart late last year. Hopefully he's comfortable with the adjustments to his mechanics and makes better decisions. Heaven help us if he gets hurt this year.

yup, you commit all your resources to the offense....its supposed to look good. Same ol issues on the defense....lack of pressure and some poor secondary play.

nice call tony....Matthews looks good for sure. I think Moncrief is going to be stashed behind Nicks, Ty Hilton and reggie wayne.....but in chip kellys system Matthews will earn time all over the field.

sigh...my 2 WR choices from last draft...one can only dream...

That's the best point..Stafford and his consistency or rather inconsistency.
