Darius Slay surprisingly absent on most 2019 top-CB lists, but PFF says not so fast.

Trade slay for Clowney. Pay snacks.

Sounds like a great idea...let?s pay a combined $40mil in two DEs who have never had double digit sacks in their careers. For the record, I love the Flowers signing.

Pay Slay, pay Snacks and have a defense ready to compete in 2019/20.

Flowers is a DE. Clowney was tagged as a LB lol. definitely a bitch move by the Texans lol. But he would technically be a OLB here.

Flowers Snacks Hand
Clowney Davis Tavaii Okwara

Ill take that front 7.

Will the Lions get a deal done for both before the start on training camp next week?

I would?ve rather paid Ziggy the money to stay before I trade our #1 CB for the same production. Clowney and Ziggy are the same, we moved on for a reason.

Slay is elite at what he does and has always shown great character. We don?t hear him in the media like we?ve heard plenty of other elite CBs in the nfl. He stays to himself, very professional, produces and gives time to the community. This day in age, thats hard to find. I hope we?re able to work out a deal and reward him for what he deserves. #payslay

I think he burned a bridge with the beard. First you complain about practicing in the snow. Then you hold out a year after you sign your contract and were a fringe top 20 cb. I think Patricia is over it. Patriot way is to move on from guys when they are at their highest value. Slay has 1 more large contract in him...now is the time to get something for him if thats the route they want to take.

I know what the man would say (Belichick) - show up and don't complain. Or we ship you elsewhere.

"I don't know. I mean, I'm just out there trying to stay warm, really," cornerback Darius Slay said. "Like you said, we got indoor games. Obviously, it doesn't even matter."

Imo, the snow thing was a bit odd when they didn't have a snow game for awhile. But he's getting paid do a job. He just signed the damn thing, what did he do last season that he didn't do previously that he thinks is worth an increase in pay?

It?s the guaranteed money and the price of contracts increase every year as does team cap.

Renegotiating is normal in the nfl when your guaranteed money is gone. He?s not doing anything different then what should be expected. If he was hurt and out next season, he?d be cut. Why is it ok for the team to do that but not ok for the player to ask for a new contract?

Didn't he figure last year the cap would go up, it has every year for some time now. He wants more simply because he's the 12th highest paid CB. As far as being cut i doubt with his cap hit. But he signed the deal maybe last year he should have asked for more years or more guarantee money. He didn't have to sign with us.

3 INTS. Darius "maybe sometimes but hardly ever make a big play" Slay. Then he asks for more money lmao.

It?s the NFL...it?s very rare that elite players play out a contract just likes it?s very rare for scrubs or injured players to be rewarded a full contract. 2 way street but only seems acceptable when the team cuts the player not when the players hold out for money.

At the time he signed the deal it probably felt good. Now that the guaranteed money isn?t there, he wants to rework the contract. I have absolutely no problem with that. You have a limited life span in the nfl, better get your money while you can.
