ProBowl for Slay, Slay+Snacks refuse minicamp Agent meets Lions Snacks+Slay to report

Look the problem I have is someone signing for 4 years then griping 2 years later. Why didn't he just sign a two year deal, fully guaranteed and then he can go to the highest bidder right now? Or at least franchised to a much higher number. As far as "shittier product" no one goes to a game wanting to watch a CB.

I have no problem with him holding out, he has that right. But ultimately he signed his deal.

Cause he's dumb.

Slay has outplayed his contract. He played 3 years on the deal by the way not 2. He had one year left on his old deal, then extended for four years.

And Slay wants a new contract because the CB market changed a bit and the cap increased.

Slay is at camp so he proved his point during OTAs. This is the right way to do it. Same with Harrison. Harrison is underpaid for sure

If you sign them now, with 2 years left for each, it's a pretty tough precedent going forward. One year left, this off-season, different story IMO.

Detroit Lions placing Darius Slay, Damon Harrison on non-football injury list.
2 of the Lions? superstars aren?t holding out, but they won?t be practicing at the start of training camp, either.

be good at your job...youll get rewarded. Whine, complain about snow, dont show up, get fined for not showing up, be a fringe top 20 guy....ya, you get nothing and youll like it.

They're not holding out but in reality they are holding out.

Darius Slay says everyone knows he?s underpaid.
He?s not wrong.

Darius Slay ended his holdout this week, reporting to Detroit Lions training camp before Thursday?s opening practice. Although he did not participate in Day 1 after being placed on the Non-Football Injury list, he did spend a little time with the media after practice.

Slay chose the high road when asked specifically about the holdout, choosing to say, ?no comment? to questions like: Did you consider holding out into training camp? Are you disappointed a deal was not reached? Did the team promise anything in the future?

But when it came to his current compensation amount, Slay was quick to agree with a reporter that suggested he was getting underpaid.

?Everybody in the world knows,? Slay replied according to MLive.com.

But now that the ordeal is over, Slay is ready to put the dispute behind him and play at a high level once again.

?It won?t impact nothing,? Slay said. ?I?m going out there to dominate. I come out, I play for the name on the back of my jersey and this organization and my teammates. So nothing?s going to stop me from what I?m going to do on the field.?

But he's not underpaid. He's the 13th highest paid CB in the league.

this place is enough for me. Sharing my opinions with 10-30 other guys is enough. I'm sure even you guys don't give a rats ass about my opinions...it's just a fun little outlet.

Your takes are almost, if not always, pretty rational even if I disagree. It's refreshing.
