Reyes

Mitch[/color]]Take out 2009 and he's averaging 150 games a year since '05. That's like saying Peyton Manning is injury prone. And honestly 130 games is okay with me. Big time help at a huge need position.

I agree, and as much as Leyland gives days off, his body shouldn't wear down.

Marlins offer reyes six years $111M deal.

Very similar to the Jayson Werth signing of last year on the eve of the Winter Meetings. Look for the Tigers to try to make a run at Hanley[/quote:8ykr6fgb]

buddy,
I haven't really followed Hanley that closely in 2011, so not sure if he was hurt or had surgery, shoulder?
but danny knobler said, Reyes isn't even a Marlin yet, and baseball people already saying he and Hanley will never coexist.
is this hanley ramirez a talented malcontent?
Leyland 'could' fix that, but do they want to pay alot in players to get him is maybe more of the question for Tigers.

Hanley Ramirez needs a change of scenery truly and Detroit would be great for him with his good buddy Miguel

ok. but he has never played 2B or 3B. Say we trade for him, do they put him at Short and move Peralta, or move him to 2nd or 3rd.
and 'If' something like this is going to be the next move. 'If' the marlins get him, you would think DD and Tigers would want him to know if there was a position switch with a trade for him.

I like how a small market team like FLA can go out and get Heath bell and offer Reyes 111 mil in 1 week and ppl will still put on posts how we cant afford free agents that will make a difference.

I would rather have Hanley over Reyes.

the problem is we dont have hanley....why not go after the guy that is available instead of waiting and then hoping you get a guy that can help your team.

I know its not a guaranteed.

But yeah go after reyes. but if he does sign with the marlins see what it would take to get hanley if they are even willing to part with him.

Peralta just had a career year and is under contract cheap and could bring in a good trade.

Peralta and Casey Crosby for Chase Headley

update from mlbtraderumors;
7:49pm: The reported terms of $111MM over six years are definitely not correct, an American League source tells Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun Sentinel. Rodriguez stresses that this doesn't mean that the Marlins aren't closing in on Reyes.

no way to know if this is bs. all should get sorted out this week.

8:35pm update :
Mets GM Sandy Alderson addressed the media and confirmed that if the Marlins are offering a six-year, $111MM deal, the Mets won't be able to compete, tweets Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. Furthermore, the Mets have yet to make a concrete offer to the shortstop, Mike Puma of the NY Post.

9:47pm: The Marlins and Reyes have agreed to a six-year, $106MM deal, pending a physical, Reyes deal with Marlins does NOT include no-trade clause. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Now that the first big name player is off the market, other big names should be ready to sign

Time to grab Hanley for half price. Delmon, Crosby, and Rondon

That's not half price, though. Maybe 1/5 price.

Big deal for Reyes.

I think the Puhols numbers and Fielder numbers are going to be staggering.

Yup.. I just wonder how Reyes and Hanley will coexist or will Hanley be on the way out? He did have an awful 2011..

I think he'll move positions. It's not unheard of for a great offensive player to move to an easier position. He may get traded, but I don't think the signing of Reyes dooms Hanley at all.

I've heard centerfield.
