biggunsbob[/color]]And now the tribe and the Sox play each other....

Be nice if the Tribe swept them, then when we go to Chicago after Minny the games won't mean anything because the Sox will be too far behind.

And we should have the division locked up by the time Cleveland come to Detroit for the final series.

Best possible outcome IMO, is the Indiots sweeping the Sux.

the best outcome is them splitting and us continuing to win. we dont really want either of them gaining any ground, and splitting with each other leaves them where theyre at now at best assuming we continue to win series.

We don't face Cleveland again until the last 3 games of the season, we should have the division locked up by then so it won't matter if they sweep Chicago as long as we keep winning we will maintain our lead on the Indians, and then the last series won't matter, which means key players can get rest before starting the ALDS 2 days later.

You guys may not agree, but if Chicago gets swept they are out of it, and that's one less thing to worry about.

Don't kid yourself, of they both split they're out of it. These teams need to gain ground. If Indians sweep and Detroit only wins 1, they gain 2.5 games. They split they gain jack.

Split. Agreed. Much better for us. Penny starting is really the only hurdle I see for not sweeping the Twins.

I'm my math is right, Cleveland winning tonight then splitting the series, plus the Tigers taking two of three...means the lead is at 9 over both teams when the Sox series begins on Monday.

It really doesn't matter, at this point we are closer to taking 1st place in the AL (6.5 games back) then we are to losing our division.

I'm more watching the scoreboard for Texas, Boston, and NY.

Dang I didn't realize we were that close. Wouldn't that be a coup? I don't think it will happen but stranger things have happened. Would be poetic justice considering what teams have to do catch us in the past. Boston is struggling and if the Yankees lose any of their starters to injury.......

Ack better not get too excited. Just win the division first.

Boston is in a skid, we are only 4 games back of them, and I could see us overtaking them by a game or 2.

We need to go 9-7 to win 90 games, I could see us going 12-4 if the pitching holds up, and the bats stay hot.

Boston plays much tougher teams, TB x2, Toronto, Yankees, and 1 crappy team Balt x2. They could go 7-9, giving us a 1 game lead.

I can hope anyhow.

Passing Boston, without passing NY doesn't do much. Maybe bragging rights. Wild card will be the road team to us whether we pass them or not. Assuming we face them.
