Scoreboard Watching 2011

Might have to add Texas to the list of teams to scoreboard watch. They're struggling a little bit. With the Tigers win and their loss today we're only one win from tying them for 3rd best record in the AL. Having home field for round one would be huge.

Home field in the 1st round would be HUGE.

If we did get a home series, I sure hope Boston passes NY. I think NY could be the easier series. Plus, I want Grandy to see a what a real CF is.

I'm the opposite, I'd rather have a home series in Comerica, and a road series in Yankee Stadium, then in Fenway.

Can you picture DY trying to read balls off the Monster?

The monster hides bad defense.

DY would be more detrimental to the team on defense in a spacious LF than in a little league one.

Right, if we get a home series, we'd need NY to finish second and be a WC. Detroit vs NY.

Or are you saying once we get past first round, you'd want to play at NY. I think I gotcha.

Yes, I'd rather play Boston at home in the ALDS, then in Fenway in the ALCS.

But it all hinges on us finishing better then Texas obviously.

I am not too concerned with Home Field for the 1st round. I just want to face Boston in the ALDS. Much rather face them in a 5 game series than 7.

This.

I'd like HF though because I'd rather face them at home.

But even in the 2-2-1 format, the visiting team stealing one of the first two games is more damaging.

Most of the time, teams will throw their best two starters in the first two games. Take one and then you can bring the series back home in a battle of the 3-4 pitchers.

No Morneau, no Kubel, no Cuddyer for the Twins again tonight. Hopefully Pavano can shut the Sux down like he does to us so often...

4-0 Minny.

It's getting close to the time to put this thread to bed though as far as the Central is concerned. I guess we can still watch the Texas scores and maybe the Redsox scores if we gain on them some more.
