Bless You Boys Tigers Blog Podcast 87: The Avila era finally takes the field. 80 minutes.
After five painful years, the Tigers GM starts putting his stamp on the major league roster.

Hi folks, we?re back with another podcast summit with the Don?t Call it a Rebuild, it?s a Team Build podcast. Our special guest is Cody Stavenhagen, Tigers beat writer for The Athletic Detroit.

Thanks to Cody for sitting in with us yet again as we recorded Monday night during the Tigers? loss to the Chicago White Sox. With the imminent debuts of three of the Tigers top prospects, there was much to discuss.

We?ll kick things off discussing Casey Mize, Tarik Skubal, and Isaac Paredes, and get the latest word from Cody on reports out of Toledo prior to their call ups. Then we move on with a little speculation as to who else might find their way to Detroit in the very near future. We?ll also get into the sense that these call ups mark the end of the teardown phase, and the beginning of Al Avila?s mark finally making itself felt on the major league roster, for better or for worse.

Of course, this isn?t your Daddy?s AL Central either. The competition appears set up to be a lot fiercer than during the Tigers 2011-2014 run atop the division.

Finally, we discuss the struggles of Miguel Cabrera and Matt Boyd, debate the merits of the Jhonny Peralta card where Paredes defensive home is concerned, and consider which Tigers prospects will now get the invite to Toledo to work out with the Tigers alternates.
