Stafford in Focus

We aren't talking about the other injuries, because I'm pretty darn sure that New England had to deal with them too. We are talking strictly Calvin vs Gronk. And Gronk missing NINE games makes Calvin's two look like chump change. A team can overcome missing a guy for 1-2 games. Losing one of your top targets for basically most of the season, not to mention that when he returned he was not 100 percent, is brutal.

I'm not thanking Mayhew for anything. I'm pissed that he passed on needed secondary help for a 2nd TE. None of what is said will change my mind on it. You go Dennard, Van Noy, and Moncrief, the draft is worlds better than the way the Lions went.

He already had secondary help with Slay and Mathis, Quin and Ihedigbo. Speed TE/slot WR was a huge need. Ebron is a perfect fit.

Calvin is much more of an impact player and his 2 games trumps 9 for Gronk.

Dennard rides the pine over Mathis and Slay. Ebron plays and is a much better option than Moncrief. Van Noy will impact. Swanson for the future at center.

Gronk 9.5
Amendola 4
Dobson 4.5
Vereen 8
Thompkins 4

Lions had more injuries. Fact.

Plus welker lloyd whitehead moving on. Stafford would hike the ball, cry, and heave the ball 10 feet over Corey fullers head. Brady leads his team to the playoffs.

Lions cut Best and Titus going into the season. Mike Williams on IR.

Lloyd, Whitehead LOL. Durham has talent compared to those jokers.

Stafford with Amendola for 12, Gronk for 6.5 games, Edelman for 16, Dobson for 12 that defense(28 turnovers) and run game (4.4 YPC) would win the AFC East too.

2 games from Calvin does not sniff 9 games from Gronk. Gronk essentially missed the entire season, and he's their top offensive player besides Brady. You can recover from 2 games. You can't recover from 9.

But yet, they figured out a way to deal with those injuries. Cause they are a real team.

Staffords team finished below matt Flynn and josh mccown. Not to mention you said our defense didn't need to be upgraded and we have no holes anywhere. Our run game was great last year. Stafford ruined the run game by throwing picks all the time....

Stafford doesn't belong in the same discussion with Brady....ever. Lets take away staffords top 8 targets and see how he does....lmao. Douchebags on here make an excuse when calvin goes out for 1 quarter with a bad finger.....imagine all the excuses if his top 8 targets were gone?!!! Gronk, Hernandez, welker, thompkins, vereen, llyod, whitehead, Dobson....all missed time or are no longer on the team. Soooo...again...lets take staffords top 8 targets away and see what were left with and how well he would do. Itd be a joke...

Not to mention to bring the discussion back full circle....Wilson lost his top 2 targets last year....and won the super bowl.

Holy shit.....calm yourself, kid....don't have a stroke. Go in your room and jerk your monkey to a Brady poster while throwing darts at a Stafford poster. Geeeeeeeez Louizzzzze!!

And you actually think there were no holes? You're better than that....i hope.

And Stafford's receivers ruined the season by fumbling and dropping balls all fn season too. See how easy it is? Get your head outta your ass.......

Run game blew chunks in 6 games. Fact. No Waddle for 5 or Bush for 2 or .5 and Calvin for the other in those games. All those guys they are good running the ball.

Lions need to force more turnovers. They can do that with this scheme and talented personnel. 28 made life easier for Brady along with his run game. Fact

Stafford did better than Flynn by 30 and swept Bears. Only reason we didn't sweep Pack is because Calvin didn't play Week 5. Week 5 is the division right there with Rodgers giving Pack a one game lead. Rodgers went 6-2 in his gams. Romo fucked things up nicely against Flynn too and a more injured Falcons team couldn't win in Lambeau

They lost 22-9 Week 5 on the road. Haven't won there in like two decades. You can't explain that away by Calvin's absence.

I love this so called talented team where one UDFA goes down and we become completely one dimensional.

Since he loves to play that game, let's do this:

Healthy Rodgers entire year: Green Bay wins the division by 4 games.

It wasn't just waddle. It was waddle and bush not playing or waddle and Calvin. Combined they are huge in taking away run game.

Hilliard and bush and Calvin can do the job

Nope they still lose to giants, really lose to us with Calvin, still lose to eagles and steelers (shootout) easily and bears once. They would beat vikings not tie.

8-8 pack and bears. Lions 8-8 and win division

So with Calvin, the Lions win at Green Bay (to make up the 22-9 difference).

But with Rodgers, who is arguably a top 3 QB in the NFL, the catalyst for EVERYTHING GB does, they still lose those games.

Makes sense.

27-20 loss Home to Chicago: S. Wallace 11/19 0 TD 1 INT
27-13 loss Home to Philly: S. Tolzien 24/39 280 1 TD 2 INT
27-13 road loss to NYG: S. Tolzien 24/34 339 0 TD 3 INT
Minnesota tie: Flynn 21/36 1 TD 0 INT
40-10 road loss to DET: M. Flynn 10/20 139 0 TD 1 INT
38-31 home loss to PIT: M. Flynn 232 1 TD 1 INT

If you HONESTLY believe that Rodgers would not have been an improvement in ANY of those losses (and tie) and given them 2-3 more wins, but Calvin on the road makes up a 22-9 difference, then I'm not sure what else to tell you.

You are so fucking stupid!

No way they lose to the Giants. Tolzien had a Stafford like game with 0 TDs, 3 INTs and a pick 6. GB beats them easily with Rodgers.

They might lose to Philly but that game could go either way with Rodgers. I would give the edge to GB

Pittsburgh was garbage. Flynn had a Stafford moment in that game as well throwing a pick 6.

Healthy teams and GB EASILY wins the division with 11 or 12 wins. Don't forget, they lost Cobb (who is probably thier best WR) for 10.5 games.

Giants have Green Bay's number. Pittsburgh was already a shootout. They scored at will on GB. Philly can easily outshoot Rodgers. All losses.

With Calvin/Burleson, we score more than 22 points. Our average was higher than that with Calvin in 2013. And we beat Flynn 40-10. No way Rodgers puts up 40 on us in Ford Field with Slay and Mathis shutting down the Packers WRs like they did.

Packers lose all those games. Lions sweep Packers. Lions win division. Flynn scored the same PPG over his career (other than Lions game in 2013) than Rodgers scored in 2013.
