Stafford in Focus

Gronk 9.5
Amendola 4
Dobson 4.5
Vereen 8
Thompkins 4

Lions had more injuries. Fact.

I like how he at the end adds in, easier division. Lol.

NFC North is not a harder division than the AFC East. At most, it's a wash. At least the AFC East has a real team.

The NFC North was the worst division in football last year. Filled with 4 teams that kept tripping over themselves because no one wanted to win. The best team, GB, was missing their star for the majority of the season.

You could add all injuries up and they don't equal Gronk's 9.5. You complain about CJ missing just two games, imagine Brady without Gronk for 9.

Calvin injured plus missed 2 and limited in 2 others. Burleson 7 games, Broyles 8 games, Pettigrew 2 games, Scheffler 11 games (since you count Hernandez), Bush 2.5 games, Bell 1/4 game.

Young and Best 16 games each since you count Welker.

Young, Broyles, Gronk, Hernandez all Round 2 picks.

Stafford missed more weapons. Pats had a more consistent run game and more turnovers. Plus easier division.

Not sure it was an easier division. The three teams that didn't win the division went 22-26. The three teams that didn't win the Lion's division went 20-27-1

I remember one week Brady's #1 "weapon" (hate that word after all this Stafford talk) was that Dobson kid. I mean give me a freaking break. And yet, he makes it work. It's magic.

And quit adding in Broyles as an injury that effected Stafford. It's not like Broyles added anything on the rare occasion he wasn't injured.

Bush 1/4 game?? WTF is that, a series missed??

"Broyles 8 games, Pettigrew 2 games, Scheffler 11 games" And yet throughout this conversation you talk about how these guys contribute nothing to the team. Why are their injuries suddenly meaningful in your argument? Stop towing both sides of the argument.

Pettigrew contributes just not down field. Broyles could contribute if not for injury. Burleson for sure contributed. They were big injuries. Calvin played hurt most of the year and is a much bigger miss than Gronk. 2 games for Calvin>Gronk missing 9.5 games.

Plus the Pats had Blount still for run game and got 6 more turnovers to help Brady. Brady had it easier for sure.

Dolphins and Jets at 8-8 and Bills 6-10 were still a much much much worse team than Detroit. They get 2-3 wins from just playing each other. Jets got two gifts against Pats and Tampa.

Bell 4th Quarter against Pittsburgh. When he was running well and Bush was not. Huge injury that day.

Hell Martin not being able to take kickoffs cost us the Ravens game. Jacoby Jones nice return to set up miracle FG.

When Nate came back he was horrible. 8 catches for Broyles that's not contributing. I remember when you had high praise for Jason Fox, year after year after year.

It's sad that we can't win because of a half a football. I still don't understand how Jacoby run was luck..Martin, lmao.

Touchback with Martin. It was a nice return. The FG was bullshit.

Nate contributed when he returned. Good comp %. Broyles was limited from injury, healthy Broyles we may never see. Glad we got Ebron, Tate and others now.

Min, Balt and Tampa he contributed. 64 average in those games is 1,000 yard season. Philly blizzard. Pack nothing but we scored 40 so I'll let it slide. Giants game only game he didn't do much when back that we needed him. Calvin limitied in that one.

Fox did ok in pass pro but can't run block. Really glad we have Waddle.

And Charles Rogers would have been a HoF WR if he didn't have a glass collar bone and a need to smoke weed constantly. Let's not deal with bullshit hypothetical scenarios. You have no idea what Broyles is capable of so why even bring it up.

2 games for Calvin>Gronk missing 9.5 games..

Actually 9.5 > 2. I'll lend you my kid's math book for proof or you can "watch the tape."

And they're both equally important within their respective schemes. Don't try and say they aren't.

Calvin is way more important to Lions and matchups than Gronk. Plus those 2 games were crucial games for Detroit. Calvin plays, Lions win division. Calvin healthier they can beat Giants too.

Broyles was very productive in college. The kid has talent. Damn shame with injury. Could rebound like Stafford did after 2 injury years. We'll see in 2014.

Rogers had a ton of talent too but weed and desire separate him big time from Broyles. Broyles is injury only and Broyles still has a shot.

Gronk missing 9.5 games is substantially worse than Calvin missing 2. If it was like, Calvin 6 games vs Gronk 9.5 then yeah. Missing 1/8th of the season in a horrible division is nothing.

AFC East is the horrible division. Jets, Bills, Dolphins all suck no matter their records. Lions will win each game by double digits this year.

Calvin missed 2, limited in 2 others and played hurt most of the year. Calvin is such a bigger miss than Gronk. 2 games without Calvin is huge. Plus it was more than just Calvin missing those games too. Waddle, Burleson for one, Pettigrew for one, Broyles for one.

Lions are extremely talented. We should be thanking Mayhew and glad he addressed the weapons the first chance he could. De, safety, RB, guard were addressed last year due to injuries (Best,Delmas) and losing Avril when he didn't take a good deal.

We aren't talking about the other injuries, because I'm pretty darn sure that New England had to deal with them too. We are talking strictly Calvin vs Gronk. And Gronk missing NINE games makes Calvin's two look like chump change. A team can overcome missing a guy for 1-2 games. Losing one of your top targets for basically most of the season, not to mention that when he returned he was not 100 percent, is brutal.

I'm not thanking Mayhew for anything. I'm pissed that he passed on needed secondary help for a 2nd TE. None of what is said will change my mind on it. You go Dennard, Van Noy, and Moncrief, the draft is worlds better than the way the Lions went.
